Ok, so this band is not remotely goth--it's comprised of four guys from Memphis who started out in punk bands like the Vegas Thunder who now do some of the most asskicking and lyrically-tragic-beautiful southern rock you could hope to hear.
If you like cowpunk/y'allternative music like the V-Roys and Southern Culture on the Skids and Split Lip Rayfield and the Legendary Shack Shakers and suchlike, you will probably like Lucero. Their website is here: http://www.lucerofamily.net/
They're playing with the Rockwells and Leslie Woods and Dark Mountain Orchid, doors at 9pm, $8 or $6 with a college ID.
I saw them play here in Boston last night and it was one of the best shows i've seen in months. They even did a kickass over of the Jawbreaker song "Kiss the Bottle." They are super nice guys, too, who hang out in the crowd and talk with the fans and stuff--their bassist bought me and my boyfriend and my best friend drinks because he remembered us from their last show here, where we came out in a blizzard to see them play. If you go, tell them the crazy Knoxville Girl from Boston with the white dreadlocks said hello!
