Your opinions on the new Skinny Puppy album?

Post by paintedbird »

I love this CD soo much. I feel like it's one of their best, but I've played all their other ones to death so I'm not sure if that's why. My favorite songs on this cd are ghostman and past present, but I love all of them except pro-test. I think this album could have done without the rapping but other than that, PERFECT!!! <3

See the Skinny Puppy Update thread for other opinions. Myself, I did not "dig it" at all.

how many listens did you give it? just wondering because a lot of people said it had to grow on them, although I loved it instantly.

Just one. I don't usually give music I dislke a second opinion  Seriously though, I probably will give it another shot at some point, but there was just so little on this disc that I could identify with Skinny Puppy.

As for it growing on me, it's not like the first time I head the Swans' Children of God and thought "What the fuck is this shit?" I had not heard anything like that at the time and it has since become a favorite album by a favorite band. In the case of the new Puppy, I've heard plenty of music along these lines and it is just not my bag. I do adore almost all of their other releases thought and really did want to like this one too.

Hey, that's what opinions are for - sharing. If you like it and others do too, good for Skinny Puppy! It is not "bad" music, poorly produced, or anything like that at all. There's just a ton of other music I would rather listen to and I was sorry that this did not fall into it.
