Answer some questions for my college research project?

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Answer some questions for my college research project?

Post by theangelofthesilence »

Hello,
My name's Steven. I used to post here when I was younger (under the name angelofthesilence; a link to my old website is still up on the links page). I'm doing a research project on the Goth subculture and was wondering if some of you (the more, the better) would be willing to answer a questionairre for me. ( at http://www.angelfire.com/goth/stevenwhi ... airre.html ). Anyone willing to give up a few minutes of their time would be greatly appreciated. Hope no one finds my request inappropriate.
Thanks a lot,
Steven

curious. what's the difference in your definition of 'computer games' and 'video games'. Are you talking about the difference between stand up cabinet style arcade games and/or console gaming systems and games that are played on a PC/Mac/Workstationofyourchoice... the lines of which which tend to be fairly blurry as many games are cross platform, especially now that many console systems are moving towards internet connectivity... or is there some other distinction that you're asking about?

That was question was probably poorly worded (I'm not a gamer myself). I suppose I wanted to create three types of gamers: those who play on consoles, those who play on computers, and those who do both. The distinction isn't important though, really. This was my first questionairre and I just wanted to be sure I had enough answer choices.

Hello all,
I'd like to first say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to answer the questionairre. Thanks!
Also, it'd be great if maybe some more of you could do it. So far I've received 7 response and 15-20 would probably be viewed much more favorably by my professor.
Sorry again for bothering everyone, and thanks for your time!

Not saying you should trust him, but the download thing probably isn't any more his fault than him choosing a lousy webhost. Angelfire started going downhill a long time ago, I see it's only gotten worse. Just don't trust anything it wants you to download, install, or execute, and you should be good. If you did happen to allow it... My first suggestion is to take your registry out behind the barn and shoot it. The second would be to run the adware removal tool of your preference and pray to the being or beings also of your preference. Oh, and if you have an exorcist handy, that'd be good too.

Hmm I apologize if anyone's had any trouble resulting from visiting the site. Certainly not my intention at all. I didn't realize Angelfire was so bad. The only reason I used it is because my old website was on Angelfire. I haven't had any trouble though. If anyone else is willing to respond but doesn't want to visit the site, here's the questionairre:

The Knoxville Gothic Community as a Case Study

The second is free response, with the intent of allowing you to answer more specifically and completely.
