Control

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Control

Post by vertigo25 »

There's a new biopic of Ian Curtis (lead sing of Joy Division) coming out called "Control."

The official website is pretty damn cool. It feels like a Joy Division album in every way. A little hard to navigate, but worth it. Be sure to play the trailer.

The movie stars 10,000 Things front-man Sam Riley, and is based on the book Touching From A Distance by Ian's widow. Riley's performance and appearance is eerily uncanny. It's directed by rock photographer Anton Corbijn and looks amazing.

Here is a reaction from New Order.

I don't think I've ever been so excited to see a movie where I know the star dies in the end :)
The firemen came and broke through the chimney top. And me and Mom were expecting them to pull out a dead cat or a bird. And instead they pulled out my father. He was dressed in a Santa Claus suit. He'd been climbing down the chimney... his arms loaded with presents. He was gonna surprise us. He slipped and broke his neck. He died instantly. And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus.
