You've got to be fucking kidding me. They *never* come around here. I seriously think they had some kind of bad experience here or something. They go to LA and the PNW, but just pass us by (laughing the entire time, I'm certain).
The firemen came and broke through the chimney top. And me and Mom were expecting them to pull out a dead cat or a bird. And instead they pulled out my father. He was dressed in a Santa Claus suit. He'd been climbing down the chimney... his arms loaded with presents. He was gonna surprise us. He slipped and broke his neck. He died instantly. And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus.

I can't believe this. I'm an idiot. I had convinced myself that they were not coming here this year at all (due to earlier postings of the schedule), and sure enough they were at Bimbo's on the 13th.
Fucking make-up wearing freak-ass bastards!

We had to leave right after WarPigs. The Boo, she couldn't handle anymore late night fun. We got home by 11:30.
We all had a great time though. They played her favorite songs and much squealing was heard. I tried to tango with her during Missed Me, but since she was standing in her chair, it was difficult.

Did they play "Care?"
Are you talking about the song about Pierre? If so, yes they did. That's one of my personal favorites just for the fact that I remember reading that story when I was much younger.
I'm not wicked. I'm just viciously mischievous.

Yes! That's the one. They sing it on the DVD, but I've not been able to find an audio recording of it. I was wondering if it was made up or an old children's story. Now that I know, I'll have to track that story down.

they were so bad ass... and they played forever. the jeep song is my favorite of their tunes so it was pretty neat to be able to get onstage and sing some "ba-de-ba-ba-ba's" and "do-do-do's"
killer show. there are some really good pics of the show floating on the forum.

I can't find myself, I got lost in someone else.-- R. Smith
Yeah, they played until about 12:30. Friend of mine went to see them in Atlanta the next night and they played there till nearly 1:30. It was a great show. Amanda has a very powerful voice live and Brian was all over the place...& he played with both opening acts.
When Brian wasn't flinging out drumbsticks into the audience or behind him, he was breaking guitar strings.. on the same song twice and finally on the third attempt they got to finish the song.
They are really good about interacting with the audience and they are great live. Excellent show - worth the $$. They played a lot of songs besides their own, War Pigs, Mad World, etc. They said they really enjoyed playing here and promised to return.
I wore my velvet renn and all the theater/costume chicks were asking about it. We ate at Bistro at the Bijou beforehand and when we went in I told them I was in a hurry and they asked if I was in the opening act...(Ha Ha!.. You know your'e overdressed when.....)
Then when I went out to buy a CD from Sxip & he asked if I made it and what time period it was from ...ha ha I said yes I made it and it's from 1470 Florence, Italy. (You know you are a costume history geek when...)
Unfortunately my date was tired so I didn't get to meet Brian & Amanda afterwards.
Oh and the crazy old strung out blonde that was dancing all freaky came onto my date when he went to get a beer. I think she had the best time of all. (but not with my date...)
