No actually, its level of importance is about 0 to me and most rational sane people. Even most christians I know on these forums are kind enough and smart enough not to try preaching to people. Being raised in the south we have been bombarded with that shit as well as UT orange every day of our lives, it gets a bit irritating..

Its fine and dandy if you want to buy all that bible bullshit so you can sleep better at night, but don't subject other people to it.

Spreading christianity to me is the same as spreading hate and intolerance. I've only met maybe 1 person my entire life who I didn't think had their head up their ass over jesus.

You know, perhaps I should be more tolerant about something I consider evil, but I've spent my whole life since I was 16 biting my tongue when I got preached at, and I'm over it.

I hope you find whatever fulfillment you are missing but please leave us out of it. If we wanted it, BELIEVE ME we know where to find it.

On one hand, posting random links in the dumpster that one in 50 would actually be interested is not new or that shocking. Jesus is cool. Got no problem with that.

On the other hand, being that I have my own personal war against God, I have to somewhat agree with Hardcoregirl. Religion is never in short suppy and everyone seems to have their own that they pedal like a car salesman trying to get rid of a clunker. If you haven't heard "the word of God" then you haven't been around anyone, ever.

So with that in mind:

Actually I figured it was helping more than hurting. Some people really need Jesus and don't even know it. If I somehow helped one person, that'd be cool. I'm not telling people what to do or any shit like that. It's just a forum, it's kind of sad that a religious link would upset someone. Just ignore it if it's a link you don't care for.

Actually rationalism isn't on every street corner, every bumper sticker, "chick" tracts, billboards, etc. Rationalists and skeptics dont' have their own store in Turkey Creek or in the mall. It is significantly harder to see or find. I don't have family members shoving it down my throat, or an ex husband who thinks I'm just plain evil for teaching my son how to use his brain. Its every fucking where you look and I'm over it.

The guy who has the servers in his house that host this website is an atheist. I know that sort of thing is fine and welcome and I share with likeminded friends.

I'm calling bullshit on that. It is just about on any website now days. Not too long ago there was a guy on Fox News who was interviewed for creating a site that specialized in teenagers posting videos of themselves stating their name, then denying the power or existence of God.

Also, anyone here who even bothers to mention anything Christian, gets this treatment from the majority of users here. What I find most humorous, is that most of the people do it, claim to be atheist, but only attack anything Christian. Buddhism, Taoism, Wickan, Vampirism, and so on are accepted here, but if if someone mentions anything involving "Jesus", "God", or simple scripture, gets torn limb from proverbial limb.

I find it extremely hypocritical and somewhat humorous. If your going to slam one religion for existing, do it to them all, or leave threads like this alone if it bothers you.
