podcast ???

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Do a search for "the ungodly hour".

I have yet to listen to it but it comes highly recommended.

And Bone is doing a podcast but personally I'm not listening to it til one aspect of it changes. Bone and Arkady definitely have some potential with it though.

Did somebody say personal attack?

Nobody better make me do the personal attack smackdown.

Well I didn't intend it to be a personal attack.

"One aspect" doesn't have to mean one person. It could be the music, or the subjects, or a number of different things.

So now JC just says "personal attack" and gets attention?

Wow.

<sigh>

I didn't say it was a personal attack. I just threw out a generic "don't do that" in the direction of any personal attacks that anyone might be thinking about.

And your "one aspect" is most likely the really subtle brown note that they embed as a backing track in all the podcasts. It's quiet enough that most people don't react, but particularly sensitive people shit themselves about 3 to 5 minutes into the podcast.

In your iTunes hit the iTunes store, and search for podcasts. There you can search by Genre (in this case music) and keyword search "Goth" or what ever style of music you are looking for.
From the search results two I would recommend "Industrial Nation" and the ReGen magazine podcast.
There will be many more listed that you can pick and choose from.
Some may be brilliant and some will suck worse than a black hole.
In the Pod-o-Sphere I have found that outside of the music genre sadly 80% or more of the shows SUCK if for nothing else than production quality. But when you find a gem, it's better than listening to the radio any day of the week.

And yes Arkady, JC & I have recently started a podcast called "Bones Lair" we currently have 3 episodes up with the next one coming early next week. Hopefully if time and luck allow we are going to try and get Voltaire to sit in on while he's in town.

There sadly is not an RSS feed for it yet, but I am hoping to have that all set up come the next episode.
For those interested you can find the current archives here. or by going to http://www.boneslair.com and clicking on the podcast archives.

Hope that helps :)

Technically it's not a podcast until it's got a feed :P

When I was doing mine, I used an app called Feeder to make my feeds. I actually hacked WordPress to *not* automatically create enclosures (as my blog linked to MP3s every day), and the manual method of adding them wasn't all that rich. So I found Feeder a much better option.

Also... when you get your feed up (however you choose to do it), I highly recommend running it through Feedburner. That way, even if you move the URL of the original feed, your subcribers don't have to change anything on their end. It also let's you track numbers of subscribers and has some other really useful stuff. Oh... and if I remember right, it can automatically format your feed for inclusion into iTunes.

A word of warning, though. I don't know if it's different now, but my show was one of the "first" on iTunes, and when it got included, my subscribers more than tripled. Had I not been on Dreamhost with a screamin butt-load of bandwidth, it probably would have hurt a bit. It may not be that bad now though, since podcasts have become such mainstay.

*sigh*

damnit. Now I miss my show.

Just too hard to do weekly.
The firemen came and broke through the chimney top. And me and Mom were expecting them to pull out a dead cat or a bird. And instead they pulled out my father. He was dressed in a Santa Claus suit. He'd been climbing down the chimney... his arms loaded with presents. He was gonna surprise us. He slipped and broke his neck. He died instantly. And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus.

Thanks for the info! I've been putting off the RSS till I decide where I'm gonna host the shows. The for the moment is on the KG server bandwidth so it HAS to be moved soon. The hits it's getting right now haven't killed us, but many more its gonna choke our bandwidth. Gotta move it before I submit it to iTunes inclusion. Sadly just haven't had the time to get my ducks in a row. A situation arose that prompted an early than planned start so I'm still playing catch-up on the tech end...
Too much to do too little time to do it. With a little luck though, we'll be set up as of the next shows release (sometime next week).

Hey Drew,

Check your PMs.
