Are those some of the poets that think they are so...original, shocking and avant garde because they roll words off their tongues like "cunt" and "cock"?
Those sort annoy the hell out of me personally.
But, poetry readings are nifty. They also have them at 11th street on Wednesdays I believe...

Acappella.....for strings and woodwinds.
I COULD be mistaken... but Acappella means NO instruments. IE.. without instruments like strings and woodwinds. So for it to be Acappella... NO instrumnts would have to be involved. Now.. they could be "unplugged" meaning no electric equipment.
*giggles* I lurve yew Rick.

1. you're right acappella is without instruments at all. So that's not us. I think it refers to singing without accompianment (how the heck to you spell that word? I know that isn't right) and you really wouldn't want me to sing - that would be much too scary. I can't peg the music - background to spoken word to set the tone anything from loud R&R to jazzy to spare ethereal clarinet. Interesting if nothing else.
2. It's true I've been known to use the words cock and cunt now and then but not to impress anyone. I do have a piece called "The Gratuitous Use of the Word 'Fuck' at Open Mikes" about that very complaint.
Come check it out. It's in everyone's budget - free.
