The Non-DJ Slammin' "Songs I Really Hate" Thread

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

The Non-DJ Slammin' "Songs I Really Hate" Thread

Post by JaNell »

Completely aside from Sanctus, 80s Night, or proving how very Gawth you are, which sings do you really hate, and never ever ever want to hear again in your infinite meaningless and dark lifetimes?

Some of mine:
The Pina Colada Song- Rupert Holmes
The Warrior - Scandal
Second Chance - 38 Special
We Built This City - Starship
Last Kiss - Either - Oh, Eddie, what were you thinking? Thanks for the flashback trauma!

Who sings that "Someday love will find you/someday love will blind you" song? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? It has a horrible video, too. One day that song got stuck in my head and I remember wanting to kill myself that entire day. That's definitely the worst song I can think of.

I think that's it. I got the second part of the lyric wrong, but the song is still awful. I was thinking it was Journey, anyway, but I didn't want to say it and be totally wrong. :)

Don't Worry, Be Happy-Bobby McFerrin

It was funny the first couple of times I heard it. Now it just makes me homocidal.

Edie Brickell "What I Am"
(hated the song the first time I heard it and ever since)

Queen's "Bicycle"
(love the band, hate that song)

I have to agree with the "Don't Worry Be Happy" as well. :)

Safety Dance, 99 Luff Balloons, most bad 80's pop like that. Anything by Ja Rule, 50 Cent, and Nelly.

Ugh, god i hate that frigging song. Like you, i hated it from the first time i heard it. I even remember the first time, it was seeing the video on MTV and i was interested in the Beat Poets and the Bohemians and suchlike, and when the band name flashed on the screen i thought, 'wow, maybe this will be cool,' then proceeded to want to puke, track her down, and beat the shit out of her.

I hate the entire subgenre of what i call "pussbag country." All that crap with smilin' retards in brand-new ten-gallon hats and $2000 designer cowboy boots singing happy-go-lucky bullshit about how much they love god-n-america, peppered with 'quaint rural lingo' and hammed-up accents. All those fuckers need a stake up the ass and a turn in a pigsmoker. However, i LOVE insurgent country, old and new...songs about drinking and killing and crying and being poor and suchlike.

I also have a deep-seated dislike for "Dirty Laundry" by John Cougar Mellencamp.

Did he do one or do you mean Don Henley's Dirty Laundry?
Don's I both love and hate. It sounds so damn cheezy, but done a bit differently it "could" sound cool

okay to my list in the RIGHT thread now....
ANYTHING by Ja Rule (how did this guy get a recording contract. IMHO the only thing he has going for him is his Back-up singers)
Mystical - Shake it fast (although there is a remixthats almost tolerable)
Juvenile - Back that ass up (I think the artist's name says it all)

80% of "new" country - Most modern country (Crooks & Dumb, Alan Jackoff, ect ect) has a rather similar appeal to me of gettin a root cannal with no novacane.
Shinia Twain has a cute belly button though

I could name probably 10 80s songs i hate REALLY bad...but then Bone would want to have a word with me...."Mafia style"

Of course, i did kill 99 Luft/Red Balloons. I plan on dropping a bomb atop of the safety dance.

I hate "I will always love you"...just the dolly version.

anything metallica post black album, even that one is...sorta bleh.

Of course LIMP BIZKIT...i dislike Staind.....i can tolerate one of those ballady songs tho. Of course theres a ton of bootay songs i hate from having to fuck with them all the damn time @ sandbaggers.
I'm a big bright shining star......
