Soon, Grasshopper. I've been busy, what with being sick for a week, then quitting smoking, then doing KFAR stuff, and now getting a new job.

I'll try and hammer one out tonight.

Hey, good luck with the not smoking thing. Our favorite habits are the hardest to let go of, but in my opinion, it's worth it. The first few weeks after I quit, I would spend hours just enjoying being able to feel air as it filled my lungs again.

But as they say, "Simple minds, simple pleasures."

Well, honestly, it was easier to quit since I've never been addicted. I don't know why - I smoked non-filtered for 8 years - but I can honestly say that quitting didn't cause me any kind of withdrawal angst whatsoever. I didn't smoke for a week because I had a cold, and I never really smoke when I have a cold, so after that week was over I just sorta was like "Well, I might as well not bother starting again."

For a long time, I smoked for the Cool Points. Not that smoking makes you cool, but it IS a lazy shortcut to "looking" or "seeming" a little bit cool. It establishes that you're a rebellious, self-destructive hedonist, which is popular with the ladies. Once I stopped needing to smoke to look cool, I continued out of sheer habit without actual physical addiction. I didn't ever "crave" a cigarette in any body-chemistry sense. I pretty much only ever smoked while drinking beer, and thought smoking was actually pretty disgusting without it.
