Attention everyone using Sig pictures and Avatars

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Attention everyone using Sig pictures and Avatars

Post by Arkady »

I've noticed a few avatars and Sigs that are entirely to big. Please review the following rules from the KG FAQ:

Signature pictures are currently allowed. Please keep the pictures in the realm of good taste. Signatures should be no more than 100X468 pixels, with a file size no larger than 40KB. If this privilege becomes an issue, sig pics will be disallowed.

Avatars may be no larger than 128X128 pixels, with a file size no larger than 40KB. Avatars exceeding these dimensions may be removed without warning.

If you find that either your avatar or your sig is to big, please fix it. Otherwise, it will be removed by an admin.

Thank you

OK, a few of you have had your avatars removed now. Please feel free to resize them and put them back.

In case you're wondering, the avatar rule exists because it's really annoying to have to scroll sideways because somebody's avatar is too big.

The sig rule is because it's really annoying to have to scroll through more than an inch or so of signature after a post of only a few lines.

In the same spirit, it would be nice if you would choose between either a graphic signature or a text signature - not both. This isn't a rule yet, but it might become one in the future.

Nazi.

Next you'll be taking away our italics, bold, and smileys , just because they are different from the standard text and reading lots of them can be annoying or something.

Actually those frog smileys are annoying as fuck. Kill them.

No need to apologise. I mean, it's not like I was frothing or anything. ;)

BTW, I'm showing a red x for your ava. You might want to check the code on that.

Assuming that you don't have the time, software, or inclination to do so yourself, do you want me to try to optimize your animation?
I have oodles of spare time...

You'll need to find somewhere to host it that lets you link to it off-site - or get someone on here to host it for you.

As you can see here:

There's nothing wrong with the image itself. :|

Nope, it's still a little big. It is currently 161 x 196 pixels. It should no larger than 128 x 128 pixels.

I'll e-mail you in a bit.
