10. The Howling
9. Haunted
8. Halloween (1,2,4)
7. Friday the 13th (any of them)
6. Night of the scarecrow
5. Amityville Horror
4. Alien (does this count as horror?)
3. Hellraiser
2. Exorcist
1. The breakfast Club (the thought of that much pastell and bad hair.......*shivers*)

Jesus this list reads like David Letterman's top ten movies to insure you never get a date again. LMAO!

Nice Halloween topic. This will be tough, but I'll try to limit it to ten MUST SEE FILMS. Not all are necessarily frighening or bloody, but usually fall into the horror genre.

In no particular order

1. Devil's Backbone. In spanish with subtitles. Ghost story that reminds me a lot of the Lady in White and an older film called the Hunted. Very creepy and atmospheric and a great movie, horror or not.

2. Angel Heart. The horror of discovering what you are really capable of. Rourke and DeNiro are outstanding.

3. Dawn of the Dead.

4. Audition. See it WITHOUT spoilers and unrated. Japanese with subtitles.

5. Wickerman. Christopher Lee's greatest old movie. Very uplifting and not scary in the least. One of those amazing movies where you are cheering for the "villians."

6. Evil Dead...The original. Scared the living shit out of me first time through.

7. Jaws. Warped my mind possibly more than any movie I saw as a child. Not scarey now of course with that huge rubber shark, yet still an absolutely outstanding movie because of the perfect cast.

8. Interview With the Vampire. Again, just an excellent film. Minor quibbles aside (crap casting for Armand) I could not have hoped for a better, more lovingly produced version of this book.

9. Alien...Yes, it counts as horror!

I will reserve judgement for my last choice until I can go home and look through my movie collection...I know I am missing some real winners here...

Here's number 10. Had to think about that one, but as soon as I watched it again, I knew I had to include it: Lair of the White Worm. Abso-fucking-lute cheesy fun! And while the zombie girl in ROTLDIII does indeed rock, the blue skinned naked vampire / snake god priestess in Lair of the White Worm is my Fave! Love the way she dresses in human guise too. A very funny movie that reminds me an awful lot of those old Hammer Horror films.

Watched the first Nightmare movie last night too. Before he became Freddy the Quipster. A little dated, but still very cool and original.

I Spit on your grave

This is a good flick. I think all teenage boys should be required to watch it. I know I will never rape a woman after seeing this film. It also reminded me of "Deliverance". Another must see movie.

The best scene to me...
The bathtub.
