it's all mainstream if you think about it, even if it's considered "underground" or "club culture", which are both mainstream in themselves...

I think my view of what's mainstream is kinda twisted. I just hate all the bands that I see these rediculous kids in malls wearing shirts from. They wear all black all the fucken time and talk about how they hate people...but they hang out at the fucken mall... and I'm sorry... but it's not cool to ACT sad and come up with bullshit reasons for being depressed.

A lot of what I listen to I consider underground because not many people know about it. You have well known bands in general... and then you have well known bands from particular genres. I usually don't even like the well known bands from particular genres... fuck whatever... most kids are twisted and don't really understand what they represent anyways.

I respect any muscian that actually approaches his music as an art.
The only real music that I have a problem with is the music that obviously manufactured for the sole purpose of making money. That type of music lacks soul and completely goes against what I believe music is all about. I think alot of us have forgot that music IS and artform, and it should be treated as such. With respect and honesty, and that is what alot of these bands completely disreguard.

As far as the "mainstream" thing goes I look at it like this. Pink Floyds Dark side of the moon is what I would consider mainstream because alot of people like it. Starry Night by Van Gogh is what I would consider a mainstream painting because alot of people like it and it was not painted by some nobody that noone has ever heard of. Does that mean that im not going to like these things because I consider them "mainstream"? Not at all, both of these works are beautiful honest works of art and I appreciate them both. Sometimes not always but sometimes public oppinion is correct.

i have to agree with that. some of us are fighting a battle just to get outside and function and these little buttdarts just claim it to be cool? umm the ones afflicted are not cool for it kids. and this hating people thing... i hate people that say i hate people to a room full of friends they talk to theyve known for years. yea you hate people so bad your always around em.

the funny thing that i have always considered about these mall goth kids .. is the simple fact of , will they still be wearing those same styles and acting that same way when it they are thirty five and have two kids? will they be that way for life? and the sad thing is is that some of them are not, they are just doing it for the shock value, for the "now." not from what they feel in there heart.... that is why i have great amounts of respect for the people who are truly who they should be in there life. just as long as they know who they are....
and sometimes those mall goth kids are just trying to find themselves because they are as lost as anyone.

it is either for the shock value, or they like to feel the draft from the doors as people walk in.

sometimes the kids would gawk at me too, thinking that they were better than me... which bothers me at times and makes me want to hurt them.... so i don't really understand why they do that. maybe they are trying to show you how cool they are.... but either way, it is still weird and bothersome to say the least.

That's "Get Low" by Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz. I've got the CD, and it's good mind-numbing music to chant to...that's about it. They're not trying to reinvent the wheel...
