Dude! Take On Me is STILL my favorite 80's song. Believe it or not, I have that whole cd of theirs and I know their names. Heh. *pathetic*

what about lace gloves with the fingers cut out, you know that whole madonna craze that had me wearing lace and beads like a fool, or sky high hair permed to perfection, or stirup pants?

hmmm, maybe I'm just thinking early 80's.

ok so I looked up some of the things and they were early 90's so I don't feel so silly now, like fresh prince was 90-96.

LadyIvanna, i honestly must say i like this thread.

And yes i do like Ah-Ha, it's just when that song get's in my head it stays there for about 3 months....

Masters of the Universe was one of my all time fav cartoons, along with the original TMNT...

Ohh there was this cartoon that i only got to watch a couple of times, the bad guys in it were plants that would sprout into cars for the most part, they had the cars out as toys and you could change wheels and stuff like that, the good guys in it were of course humans that had a tank like vehicle that had 3 glass pods, there was a blonde younger guy, and old guy who was the machanic if memory serves. The plants weret aking over earth. Does anyone have a clue about this cartoon... it's been agravating me for some time now. or was i just too "touched" of a child and this is all a part of some weird set of dreams i had...
My thoughts are my bible, that's what I live by.

k, first off, not only were he-man and she-ra brother and sister. they were twins, adora was stolen at birth by hordak and taken to etheria, where she became a member of the horde. all until the second sword was discovered and the sorceress revealed to adam that adora existed. then he-man went to etheria( yes, he-man lived in eternia) to tell adora of her destiny, and she picked up the sword and said........................FOR THE HONOR OF GRAYSKULL. and she was she-ra, and lead the great rebellion against the horde in etheria. he man stayed in eternia, but occasionally they would reunite for shit like xmas specials.

yes, i am the biggest 80's nerd EVER!!!! i still have "the secret of the sword" and the crystal castle, and castle grayskull, a bunch of the dolls, and i think snake mountain may be in my parents basement somewhere in many pieces. wuzzles, snoorks, UNICO RULES!!!! rainbow brite, sweet sea, i still have a popple. but you forgot a very very very important part of the 80's, my beloved childhood

MY FUCKING LITTLE PONY!!!! baby i still love my little pony.

oh and don't forget, the aerubix cube, and swatches, and paula abdul, and leg warmers, and wham, and kangaROOS, oh and golden girls(not the old chicks, it was a very conan the barbarian-ish catoon that released dolls very similar to she-ra), gi joe,pac man, the brat pack movies, dirty dancing, revenge of the nerds, OMG......THE LOST BOYS( who had a crush on corey feldman), and god i could go on for hrs. i watched all of the "i love the 80's" series and "i love the 80's strikes back"

I LOVES THE 80'S!!!!!!

Bout that madonna look,......I used to pantomine her songs and wear like 98 belts on my waist....and legwarmers.......and Punky Brewster was my hero. And I loved strawberry shortcake.

I rememebr when Star Wars premeired on Tv.... every year when it came on I made my mom put my hair in cinnibuns on the sides of my head while I watched my hero Leia!

I once got into a fight in Kindergarten with my cousin because he cut the tail off of one of my My Little Pony ponies. My favorite was Firefly. The new ones they have put out are made oh so slightly different in the body, new names and designs....same with Strawberry Shortcake. It's just not the same. But I loved all of those as well.

and I too, still have a crush on Corey Feldman. We should start a support group or something.

Of course, I also had my heart set on marrying Jonathan Brandis but now that he's died, that won't happen.

What's sad is I do remember all this crap. And daily...I try to force it out of my head. No joke. I hated the 80's then...except for Prince and the Revolution...and I still hate the eighties. Or should I say the eighties style. The music was alright...the cartoons were OK...But,the style of the eighties makes me wanna spew....dough.!

All I can say is,I hope like HELL women never....ever...ever...go back to the POOF hair, You know, when they used to hairspray the hell out of thier bangs...and sculpt some kind of fly trap on thier foreheads. Mulletys were indeed bad....but,that poof hair was a hell of alot worse.
Yes, I have wished you were dead. You are just another face in the crowd, someone who brings me suffering, someone I truely hate.

I have held back on this thread, since I wasn't born till late 1980, but I have to say, I still have all my my little ponies, pony castle, beauty salon, stable, dance school, nursery and game. Plus a million accessories, and Gwynn plays with them everytime we hit my mom's house (where they will live untill I have a house of my own, with a room worthy of them) Santa this year will be having a ball providing Gwynn with all the new ponies he can find!

I have also continued recently collecting Cabbage Patch Kids, but only the original ones will do for me (nothing after 90 or so) the hard part is that I collect them in Alphabetical order.

I still have a Popples sleeping bag, and Gwynn has my original Lady Lovely Locks little metal trash can that my best friend bought me as a birthday present when I turned 9.

I was introduced to NKOTB in third grade by my boyfriend (silly me, till then I was listening to REM and B52s with my brother, and other silly stuff like Men without Hats, They Might Be Giants, and many bands from St Louis and other local areas) I still have 2 of their tapes (somewhere in the far reaches of the retired tape cabinette) 2 of those glass pictures that you can win at a fair by popping balloons with a dart, and to top off my collection, I neon colored NKOTB belt bag.

I went to Catholic school in second grade and experience my first dress code, which outlawed sweat pants (heaven forbid!!) and from that time on, untill I out grew them, I lived in my 3 pairs of spandex pants, neon green, neon orange, and hot pink, with matching socks, rolled down in Ice Cream rolls. And always worn with an oversized sweatshirt, arms cut off, that had a picture of an angel in neon colors on the front.

I have to say, although I still have most of the things I ever had (yes, I am a packrat, and you love me for it) one of my prized possessions is a poster that hung on my wall for years, If I can ever find it again (haven't seen it in a while, it is somewhere around tho) I would love to have it reproduced (it has seen better days) It featured a little boy and a little girl, prolly around the age of 7 or 8, she was wearing a fishnet shirt, spikes , leather skirt, and killer boots, he was wearing a leather motorcylcle jacket, and pants, and had a mohawk, and it said, "We Will Change the World".

There is so much more, but I really shouldn't keep talking right now.

My eyes still hurt from all the neon clothing from the 80's. However I don't think the 80s hair went totally away. I still see that same haircut when I get up the nerve to wonder into Big Lots or the Mall
