What the fuck do I know, but...

A google search of "brody armstrong" brings up nothing but sites proclaiming "nude pics;" for at least two pages (I didn't go any further) and not one page that was legitimately related to her "music." Veeery interesting....

:|

Disclaimer: I am not punk, know next to nothing about punk, etc.... I just have a wierd, random dislike of Brody et.al.

Yes, I have wished you were dead. You are just another face in the crowd, someone who brings me suffering, someone I truely hate.

Well, be warned, if you do a google search to see what she looks like, you'll end up with lots of cheesy nude pictures. She's not really all that much worth seeing, although I think it would be good if someone fucked her to death for reasons previously posted....

Junk, calm down a bit baby. You're gonna pop a nut.

I'm a bit disgusted at the Brody f*cking Tim thing at the moment, so I really have no further comments at this time.

JUNKIE- you are MY hero now, and i love you for that.

on a lighter note:
i have no clue who this nude chick everyone is talking about is, therefore i have nothing to say on the subject.

but.....
i can relate to being addicted to stupid tv shows. i have seen every episode of friends up to season 5( season 6 comes out in january!!!), i watched roseanne every week till it went off the air, and i am currently addicted to queer eye for the straight guy. but i would rather stick ginsu knives in my ass and thrust repeatedly than even turn the tv on when that real world/ road rules shit is on.

my point is, we all have our guilty pleasures. whether it be tv or music or whatever. i hardly watch tv anymore, and when i do its shit like forensic files, the history channel or animal planet( i currently have 9 dogs in my house, though. so i am excused). i listen to a wide variety of music, and the only thing i can't tolerate is booty music( rap about nothing more than bitches, hos, money, and boodicsy) and country. i'm not punk or goth or pop or techno orangry lesbian man hater. i am just me. i like a little bit of everything and try to respect other people's tastes. blink 182 and backstreet boys are a bit excessive, though. :-?

Just so that we all can be clear, here are some definitions of "punk" :

-Rotten wood, or a fungus growing on wood, used in a dry state for tinder; touchwood, amadou.

-Chinese incense

-A prostitute, strumpet, harlot.

-A punch.

-Something worthless; foolish or empty talk; nonsense, rubbish

All of these definitions have been provided via the Oxford English Dictionary.

Personally, I think "punk" as an adjective was actually used to describe Frank Sinatra in his younger days, who I adore, therefore I might be punk.

However, I also listen to Bach, so does that make me "classical?"

I think we spend too much time trying to define ourselves.

And that's all the sarcasm I have to offer at the moment. ;)
Sure, I'll try to be nicer, if you try to be smarter.

to gwenhwyfar, ::takes a bow::

for those wondering about brody, you websearched the wrong thing. look for her band, the distillers, you will find her. der.

i named the damn band before i named her. ahh the context of reading.... ;)

my final thoughts on the punk debate, if i gave a fuck what people think about the way people view my life, my words, my opinions, or any of the above, i wouldnt use the word punk at all.
so say what ya want, think what ya want, some of us... we just know. that fire inside that reason we dont care... thats the word we use. to the rest of the world: try to label it, accept, water it down, it will always be there.

now my shameful admits of guilty pleasures:
hopeless SNL and cheers addict. have been trying to buy tapes of the ghostbusters cartoons for years.

I'll admit to having varied taste in music. In addition to old school punk (i.e. pre 1978) and goth music, I also enjoy some rather tasteless, raunchy booty rap. I am also a fan of Billy Joel, which I only disclose because Scarecrow has blackmailed me with this info on several occasions. Now that I have that off my chest I feel much better.

lol...Speaking of 'Billys'...Billy Idol was, and still is pretty damn cute...in my opinion.

Junkie...Ghostbuster cartoons? I don't remember those...hmm... I need some of that Ginko shit.

Ok, another confession...
I watch the VH1 count-downs and I love the 80's and 70's...even tho I don't remember much of the 70's...maybe because I wasn't alive then. Usually watch 'em when nothing else is on.

Oh, and I'm in love with Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn...but thats not so much of a guilty pleasure as it is just a fact. :P

I have to agree with that as well. Throughout the last few years, I've listened to a lot or arguments about songs and what band fits into what category. Granted, a lot of these were about techno - where the lines can get blurry as hell at times. The conclusion I came to was that it _really_ does not matter one damn bit what goes where. Music is an art form and type of personal expression, and oddly enough, generally two groups aren't going to express themselves in the same exact manner. Music is an evolutionary art form, the label definitions change with the times and adapt to what happens. In the end, they aren't very important anyways. Anyone who limits themselves by arguing over labels either holds their own opinion as the Final Word of God on the matter based on their own opinions, or is just limiting themselves by not giving the music a chance.

Excluding someone from one of these (wonderful) society labeled groups, just because they have some ideas or expressions that don't go along with the group, is equally as foolish. (The exceptions being secret underground organizations where they rip out your tongue if they don't like you).

Labels of music, and labels of types of people shouldn't be used to cause problems. That would only be conforming to the laws set down by a society that doesn't really know what the heck they're talking about anyways. Labels should be around simply as a form of convenience. A way to ease communication so that one person knows what the hell the other is saying without having to go into lengthy descriptions. They're a generality that shouldn't be brought to a ultra-specific end.

Ok, that’s my rant. I hope it's an amusing to read as it was to write.... I really think I had too much fun with this =P

how can you not remember the ghostbusters cartoons?! they came on every week with the saturday morning line up when we were kids, if not more than that. i always sat there with a box of cereal, a carton of milk, a bowl and a spoon, and watched all fucking morning. thats prolly what lead to my wieght problem as a child. oh well.

junkie, i think i have some ghostbuster cartoons on tape, i will have to investigate. my mom used to tape all kinds of cartoons for me, even the sat. a.m. line up. no promises, though. knowing me, i prolly taped she ra or MLP over it. i'll check into it.
