It seems that there's an exciting new virus out as of today.
It's an email attachment trojan, I've gotten 3 copies of it already today. For me, it's just annoying, but for those of you unlucky enough to not be using a Macintosh or Linux machine, it could be a real problem.

Yeah, and I've got a Mac, so I opened it just because I can. It's quite harmless for me.
It's so obviously a virus, though. I can't imagine a valid reason for sending a file that's a .txt.pif as the only thing in a zip archive.
SpamAssassin even flagged the email as spam for me.

Next time I come over to crochet with Thrall, you can play with my laptop. I think some virus scan thing said I had some troj_netbus thing or something or other...but someone told me not to worry about it.
I'm just an average PC user...*sniffle*

Being a UT student, did you know you have access to anti-virus software? It's part of your tecnology fee. Any UT student or employee can download and install it on any of their machines. Unfortunately, that ass of a president ruined it for everyone. UT now has to accept bids in order to purchase the licenses, but at least it's still a corporate edition of McAfee. It's only a $300 piece of software. You will get a licensed copy which is good for one year of updates. Luckily, my year hasn't ran out at home and I still have Norton, but McAfee is better than nothing.
