Nudity in and of itself is one thing. The image of a male ripping the clothing from a female is something else entirely.
The same goes for sex on TV or in movies. Just because its sex doesn't mean it has a thing in the world to do with love. Rape scenes warrant warning the parents of young children before showing them. Just as disemboweled bodies should, & things of a graphicly violent nature. This isn't just for the sakes of children whose parents feel they should be protected from it, but also for adults who may have issues with such things.
In my opinion, every American has that warning as soon as they flip to cable channels (especially after certain times of night). Ms. Jackson's little peep show is only a big deal because it was network & the audience was not only not expecting it, but a significant percentage of them would undoubtedly be offended by such a dsiplay.
Of bigger concern on our TV sets is all the crap commercials about high blood pressure, strokes, & heart attacks. They try to scare the shit out of people to make them think that they will soon die, lest they go to their doctor & have him perscribe the wonderful new drug that will save your life, yet cause massive intestinal cramps, bleeding, headaches, & short term memory loss.
Change the channel! It's psychological warfare again.
(My $.42 worth.)

Change how you see, not how you look.

Amen, Mo.
I support wholeheartedly practice of turning off your TV.
Read a book, play games, take a walk. Don't subscribe to the garbage, and don't feed it to your kids. Some programming has quality (History channel, PBS, Discovery)... but the majority of Americans aren't sitting up at night watching this stuff together. The TV has become the cheapest babysitter, and I think that adults should monitor the TV watching instead of barking at the scenes of sex and violence that their children see.
Sure, I'll try to be nicer, if you try to be smarter.

They don't take family seriously anymore cuz there's so many of them f**ked up & disfunctional anyways (which is sad) not to mention the world can be a selfish place to live! Money talks & bullshit walks. *zzzzzzzz* Hell mah kids and I weren't watching this anyways cuz I can't stand foosball! Foosball is the devil!! lol The closest thing to nudity mah kids see is mommy streaking from the shower to the bedroom! Most of the time were dancing, coloring or using our imaginations which is what a lot of people have lost grasp of. Who needs T.V. when you've got Candyland!

Granted some children's programming is quality, and I'd hate to say this Barney, is one of them. It teaches learning, sharing, hygiene ,and nutrition. You can always tell which parents are letting their kids watch crap or not. My nephew only watched Barney, and Blue's Clues, other than that it was animal planet, or PBS. He just skipped to 2nd grade. However, i have another nephew who wasn't given such care to what he watched and he well, isn't the brightest crayon in the box. Not saying that these shows have to do with intelligence, but hey its STATS.
I know, it went from 199, to 201

Yeah, it isn't necessarily intelligence, it is allowing kids to be force fed numbing programs that do nothing to stimulate true problem solving and creativity. Chris just learned an interesting statistic in one of his American studies classes: An average 6 year old American child will have already spent more hours in front of a television set than they will in a classroom. It may be an exaggeration, but it is food for thought. Scary food, at that.

Mah kids only watch educational programs like Dora & Blues. They were saying their ABC's & 123's before they were 2 & words in Spanish (which blew my mind). All I was saying in my previous statement is the media doen't care what gets thrown in there as long as their pockets are being lined! And ppl who let their children watch it, well their obviously fudged in the head! Id rather build a Lego fortress than watch T&A on television. I'll teach my children about the naked body, not some pop diva with a hood ornament attached to her nipple! Im a stripper for Christs sake, I can see T&A whenever I want! But this is only my opinion, nothing personal. Nuff said ... *zzzzzzzz*

i really don't get what all of the fuss is about. Janet has breasts. So what? About 50% of the population of the world has them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the naked human body.
i could maybe understand the arguement that is was innapropriate because children were watching, IF this happened on a program geared towards children or families. The Super Bowl is not children's or family programming. It's for adults. There are cheer-leaders wearing not much more than Janet Jackson, glorification of excessive alcohol consumption, unnecessary violence, and over commercialization with every Super Bowl. Parents concerned about their children seeing such things on TV should not have had the game on in the first place.

Actually, almost 100% of adults in the world have breasts - excepting masectomy patients - ours just have more fat. Otherwise, the equipment is the same. If male nipples can be shown on TV so can female nipples. Anything else is a double standard that contributes to the stereotyping of the female body as a sexual toy. Put your wifebeaters on, boys.
Anywho.
Do I get to be the first to point out how wonderful it is that the nipple shot was on CBS, who wouldn't run the anti-Bush commercial?
*snicker*
I guess they're anti-nipple even if they're not anti-Bush. Damn double-standards!

Victoria is 3, Donovan is 4 & we just aquired a new addition. Vernon's daughter, Kayla, who is 10. She just moved up here from Fl. So, I pretty much have mah hands full. It can get frustrating at times, but that's when I rustle 'em up & hog tie 'em!

And Im not talking about just Super Bowl, Im talking about television in general. I have no intention of makeing a fuss, Im just stateing my own opinion like everyone else. For the most part everyone has their own views & I totally respect that, if we all felt the same there would be anything to talk about ... & if I took any offense in the naked body I wouldn't get naked for a living ...

it all boils down to how much time you spend with your kids, and what you do with that time. Liek my nephew Mitchell was always learning during his quality time, and he enjoyed it. But my little (step) brother has always been playing sports in his quality time, and he has great sports abilities, but his mind is rather limited. However, his mother isn't the brightest crayon in the box.
