Bonnaroo 2004

Post by Flamegrape »

Anybody here planning to go to Bonnaroo 2004?

I know of a few people who are planning to go. But I will probably be going by myself. Any of you folks interested in getting together there?

At other concert festivals, I noticed that some people erected banners and flags to help people find their camp sites. Perhaps the KnoxGothic.com people could fashion similar flags to help find each other?

And don't forget the hippies.

Masses of dirty, stinking, potsmoking, thieving, bumming lazy ass hippies.

Though I'd like to see Dylan, Byrne and Willie, I don't think it'd be worth having to see the Dead and that other crap.

*shiver*

Maybe a team of us...
some C-4...

LOL..

Just kidding!!

Something else occured to me. Not many penniless, dumpster-diving hippies are going to get in at an event that costs
$170
It'll probably be something like that Phish Y2K show that I saw in the Everglades. That event's ticket cost a bundle too. And nobody is going to get a "miracle" ticket for free. More than likely it'll be middle-upper class folks there. In fact, just like at many similar shows, there will be armies of expensive RVs. No school buses or cargo trucks allowed.

I've never seen David Byrne live. This will be cool...

Oh, fuck that.

The music sounds nice, but paying

to listen to it amongst the Unwashed Masses most certainly does not.

Bleh.

Have fun, guys. I'll see you on my p2p client. :D

They are called trustafarians and amazingly, they can smell just as bad.

Don't get yer panties in a wad, I was just joking around. I made a ton of money off the hippies in high school making hemp jewelry, and I know and love many potheads, and am probably one of the most "granola goths" you could meet. You will find me at the Earth Day Celebration in April with bells on, and I have been known to do things like attend protests and the like...

To quote an ex: "it's goths that don't know they're hippies-they fuck my shit right up" which was a play on some nice king missile lyrics.

I think it'd be a lot of fun to go and I would if I had the money. Don't bother being silly about posting it here, it's just a good of place as any. I hope you have fun and don't pick up hepatitis or amoebic dysentary or things that.

Oh, and there is a HUGE difference between old skool hippies and the wanna-be's these days. HUGE.

And I have nothing against the "penniless and dumpster-diving".

Dumpster-diving is hardcore.

Amen to that.

My little brother went last year. He and his girlfriend had a great time and got really bad sunburned. They camped next to this old guy that constantly smoked up and bitched about the youngens. When my brother told my dad the guys name he freaked out. Apparently someone famous from the 70's. I can't remember the name now.

Just be aware, the interstate gets alll fucked up around that area for a few days before and after the festival. Plan on driving down early.
