Some days bite back
I think I totalled my car today on the way to school. Some chick ran a red light and I t-boned her in my Talon. Suck. I'm open to suggestions on the next Julie-mobile. Just one thing....it has to have a mystery oil leak. It's a running theme in my life.

Yeah, I'm fine other than a headache and a stiff neck. They took the other chick out via ambulance, but I think she'll be alright. They had to cut her door off to get her out (and yet, my airbag didn't deploy). Thank goodness there was a witness there that stopped and gave the police a report of what he saw. I've never been in an accident this bad before. Oddly enough, I'm just worried about her and what I'm going to do for an automobile. I can drive my step-dad's pimpin' Lincoln, but I hate land yachts.
You're right though Andy. Thank goodness it wasn't the Ghia. The Talon held up like a tank actually. There's some pretty heavy body damage (hood, fenders, crack in the windshield, bumper, etc.) but it left the engine compartment intact. I don't know if the KG could have handled that.

that is, by and large, the most interesting description i've heard to date of how a car wreck feels.

I hate to be the bearer of possible bad news, but most injuries from cars don't manifest for almost three days.
I was in an accident, and it took three days for the back injury to make an appearance. I got up out of bed and fell flat on my face. My legs wouldn't work.
I am just saying that so you be careful. I doubt that will happen, but just take it easy.
Glad you are okay to post though.

Aww...thanks for your concern everyone! I'm just worried about what I'm going to drive now.
I was thinking a low mileage Audi tt for under 10G's....don't think *that* will be happening though.
Really though, I'm thinking about a newer Cougar, Celica, Jetta or Beetle. I hate SUV's, granny cars, family cars, etc. Basically, if it has a back seat, I'm not interested. I've never actually had a car payment before. Oddly enough, I've never really wanted one.
What bites the most ass about this is that my income tax check *was* going to go toward getting all the interior stuff for the Ghia. I guess that will have to wait now. She really knows how to ruin a day.

well, its kinda true. when you are in a car that has lost control and its spinning around and you dont know up from down and front from back, in the middle of all the chaos comes a feeling (for me atleast) of complete fear and utter freedom. its kinda like in fight club, where he says (in essence) to be completely free you must stop trying to control everything. its true. the icky part happens after the spinning stops and you hit something. and you hurt. and you break the car. that, my friend, is a horrible, gross feeling that i dont wish on anyone.
I was in a head-on x-mas eve 01. I know what you mean about the icky; however, in that particular wreck, I didn't get a chance to feel the "freedom" of being out-of-control. All of a sudden, the bitch was in my lane and BAM!! The rest is ER history. :x
I'm Jewish. I don't work out. If god had wanted us to bend over, she would have put diamonds on the floor.

i hear ya. i was in a really bad car wreck when i was 16. it fucked me up enough to where i dont remember any of it, however, not quite 2 weeks ago (during the last fit of snow), i lost control of my car and went spinning through 2 lanes and ended up half in a median and half in the fast lane. once i got over the initial shock, it struck me that that was pretty intense, and kinda fun.

You seem to be pretty good with your hands, why don't you get an AC Cobra kit car?
