Well, I'll emphatically disagree with you on this one.

While our open door policy does let a few trolls in, I consider it a very acceptable price to pay for an open community.

Trolls can be banned - this one lasted less than a day. It's a minor disruption, one which can't possibly make up for the benefits of allowing this community to grow without arbirtary restrictions on who can get in.

It's always been KG policy that we're trying to build a community - but any real community has a few troublemakers.

We will NEVER go to an invite-only policy on KnoxGothic.

There aren't many the private forum which may not be named members that weren't first on KG. Or even helped create it....

Only thru KG would I have met lots of worthwhile people....but I've also met lots of morons. Only some of the good ones are special enough to know where I live...thus, some are special enough to get invited.

Do we really need to get into all this again? Is this what's going to happen everytime someone decides to come along a cause trouble on this forum? This horse has been beat to death. Both forums have their pluses and minuses. Let's just leave it at that.

I have to say I am grateful for the open door of KG. I mean, personally, tho I know and Love many of the Elite Kferatu's, I have never been asked to join, and I must have somewhere to participate.

(That's a new one for me), come on, they provide some level of initial amusement - Kind of like watching Dubbya give a speech. You know its crap but you can't help but comment on it. I understand what you're saying, but the flesh is weak

Anyway, from what I've seen, troll problems happen infrequently enough that they can be taken care of as they occur. I was on a Tom Waits message board several years ago and it was assaulted by trolls on an almost daily basis ("I kind of like Tom Weights, but his voice sounds like shit." Things like that).
