Actually, i think Mothers Day was first proposed by women activists during the Civil War as a protest of sorts against their sons going off to die, and was later co-opted (in i think the '20s?) to become the cards-n-flowers sort of holiday we know it today.

Regardless, happy mothers day to all the KG moms!
