Cendant is Evil- In a BAD way / KILL YOUR TELEVISION...

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Cendant is Evil- In a BAD way / KILL YOUR TELEVISION...

Post by thx1138 »

I'm new to the forum and as I was browsing the topics list I saw a category for those seeking employment with area call centers. I hoped that I would not see Cendant among the names, but I did. I'm just adding my two cents worth. The followng is an entry I made at http://www.thecomplaintstation.com concerning my sudden termination from Cendant after six+ years of employment :

Thank you for your time.

I was terminated from my position as a hotel contact representative for Days Inn due to complications surrounding a medical condition known as Bell's Palsy.

I filed the proper forms and had doctors' recommendations to not go to work. In short, I followed all required proceedures. Yet, the powers that be, namely Jo Lana Bullock of the Knoxville, Tennessee Human Resources department, decieded to forego the proper outcome: to allow me time to recover, per approval of CORE- a company that handles health issues for Cendant employees.

I was terminated in early August. I had to get the assisance of a lawyer to get unemployment compensation. I recieved no medical reimbursment, tuituion reimbursement, and was denied all but $14 from my final paycheck because my Approved time- off was reveresed.

I have tried, on several occasions to alert someone in administration of what I consider to be a gross injustice, but for the moment I have received no response.
There is much more to this story, but this is the crux.

Thank you for reading.

Sorry to be bitchy and wordy on my first official post.

P.S. for those interested...

Those fucking bastards. What a bunch of cheap asses to screw you over when you had an "official" medical excuse. If companies don't honor the laws that are designed to protect the worker, then I guess it's up to us to protect ourselves. Screw Cendant for being so dishonest. What a bunch of money-grubbing, disrespectful jerkbags. Cendant is evil.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. Have you tried talking to the BBB or an attourney about it? If you make enough noise about it, I'm sure you get your job back. (If you wanted to, of course.)

Sorry to hear about that. I worked at Dial America for years, they recently shut down or I would recomend there. Good luck in your recovery.

And thanks for the heads up on the TV show.
Yes, I have wished you were dead. You are just another face in the crowd, someone who brings me suffering, someone I truely hate.

i had a very similar situation last summer with Cendant when i had pneumonia. They eventually payed me what they owed me, and offered me my job back. However, it was all a major pain in my ass when i had a lot of other stuff going on in my life and was needing a job with different hours than what i had there anyway due to school, so i just found employment elsewhere.

I've worked for Cendant under several different hotel brands (as both hotel clerk and general manager) and I must say that from what I've experienced with them I heartily agree with your sentiments.

Cendant sucks. Period.

(Of course, Holiday Inn is no better... )
