Well, as it stands currently I have a place up here that is very intrested in hostinga party night for the goth crowd. Anyonw who plays is welcome to come, open stane for music, or suggestions are fine, Don't have anything set in stone yet, like I said, need to see ow many I can get intrested.. im sure I have about 4 so far.. If I can get at least 10 Intrested parties, then I'll set the wheels in motion to try and get a smal party started here in Morristown.

I'll be there, just let me know when and where. Looks like we're getting close to the ten people you need. Given Morristown's gestapo attitude, maybe what we need is a reporter with a camera and a civil rights attorney there to witness when the cops show up and start beating on us for wearing black.

Not a bad idea, my friend.

Things are looking good frineds.. I am thinking of trying to have it between sanctuses, start it on say the scond Monday night of the month, or maybe the first. Still working on an exact date.. I have talked to a few places.. and Im sure it can be held here, its just what you all want to put into it.. Going to try to do it every month if I get enough people that want to come here.. First off I have a few questions. that you can E-mail back to me if you want..
1) Do you want more freedom to do what you want, or a cheeper place to hang out?
Obviously what I mean by this is I have found a few places to hose this.. The first few we can proably get into for free, no charge, but You will have to put up with other people comming in and out *and proably calling the cops* and what not, and I have to work on being ablt to use our music and everything.. On the otehr hand, the is a Really nice club here in town that has a bar, resteraunt, dance floor ect.. in it and I may be able to rent the entire place out so it will just be us, but to do that, Im going to have to charge a $5 cover fee to get in.. just something to think about..
2) What music do you want?
This is just so I get an idea what you all want to hear..
3) When do you want this to start and end?
Just some suggestings here, I was thinking of starting about 7:30 or 8 and shutting down at midnight (City ordance, they have to close the bar at midnight anyway) Plus most of the places I have called say they close early but for a large broup would stay open later.. Might be able to run it till one if you all are intrested..
I think we can make this work guys.. even if you daon't want to foot the covercharge we can still get in a place for free,, just have some restrictions on what we can and can't do..
If you want to help, drop me a line at my e-mail, please.. yellowfur@charter.net thanks again

Morristown 2
I wander if the churches in this town will try and stop this. I use to go to Frist Baptist Church and when some like this happens they would try and stop it. People just don't understand us and cause of that they fear us. GOOD LUCK FOR US...

yeah, if a venue serves alchohol, by state law, all alchoholic beverages must be off the table by 3:00 am, no exceptions. Most clubs call it out by 2:45 so you can finish your drink and have it in the trash and out the door by 3. However governing of alchoholic consumption is vated on per county. 3 being the latest. ANd Morristown must have all drinks off of the table by midnight. And if ANY venue in Tennessee besides a family oriented place of buisness (like a restraunt or bowling alley) serves alchohol, there are no exception besides the ones I have listed, 18 and under are never permitted. As for the exceptions, the family oriented buisnesses may allow under 18 patrons, ONLY if they are in the presence at that venue of a parent or legal guardian. and that is after 12 am.
I am pretty sure a venue has to have a permit to stay open past then, guaranteeing their responsibility not to serve alchohol and provide security. basically they have to swear to obey the law.
Lots of venues have "all -nighters", but have sort of phased them out, as they are associated with Raves which = cops= which = trouble.....things a club promoter and owner want to stay away from because there is this awesome law passed in congress called the crackhouse law, which basically states that any club promoter or owner, being resposible for the clientel and promotion of said club night, can be arrested and fined severely (upwards to $4000) if anyone is busted in their club in possession of drugs such as Xtacy and other sold hard (or soft) drugs. Yes, as if that club were a crack house. That club promoter may lose that club, or any of the priveledges associateed with that club. I have heard of a few all nighters within the past year, and I mean 2. they were raves.
There used to be "after hours clubs", like the boiler room, and sometimes Lava. I dont even know if tthe boiler room is still open, but again, I havent been there since the heyday of the underground. And its sort of a shady place ( the boiler room) Hell I remember when the entrance was down this back alley....looked like something out of a movie, or the entrance to hell, littered with bums who wouldnt think twice about accosting anyone who might venture back there.
And the farther in the sticks you hold a party, the faster the cops get called......I have attended one in Loudon County , miles from anyone, and the cops showed up there too, saying the bands were too loud, guess a squirrel didnt enjoy the noise.
Basically, any club night that is planned or promoted on this board will likely be a "club" night, therefore serving alchohol, therefore counting out anyone under 18. Sorry, its the law. We had a "anti-prom" that was all ages on here earlier this year.
I do not know of any venues that would
a) be out in the sticks farther than morristown.
b) be willing to hold a club night for the dark and spooky kids
c) be willing to not only be responsible for a buncha out of towners partying it up there, but also be willing to let them stay past 3 am, when they will be likely making no money other than the sale of soft drinks.
d) might welcome a party situation and include minors.
the only thing I would think might fit your description might be a roller rink. however, I would be willing to bet a lot of us dont know how to skate, and that might deter us roller-declined from attending. But you have to convince a venue (club, roller rink, or otherwise) that they would profit from having us there, venues are not charities, and must also pay bills too. ON the other hand, ASheville had a Goths on wheels night......might be something to think about.
As for a place, out in the sticks, that can accomidate loud music (that might be viewed as troubling or satanic to the super-christians) would welcome our spooky selves, and be willing to stay open past 3 am (or 12 for morristown), is willing to be responsible for whatever trouble may come with a party, AND
would like to go ahead and be responsible for minors with or without their parents consent to be there, I say good luck with that,
becasue there is a statewide curfew for children under the age of 18 not to be out past 12 midnight, whether school is in session or not, without being accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Sorry sweetheart. But do not dishearten, as there have been goth events geared with all ages in mind here. and there is always "blackest coffee hour" at 11th street coffee house every friday where most of us gather and get all hyped up on caffeine.
ON a personal note, and this is nothing against anyone on this board under the age of 18 because we have awesome members including yourself who are under 18, but I would never attend a party ANYWHERE, alchohol or not that would welcome minors in an adult situation (that being a party that has plans to extend past a witching hour for the minors, and may contain alchohol or any other illegal substance not intended for minors). Whatever situations may come up at said party, all of age partygoers are held responsible in the eyes of the law as to what a minor has any buisness doing at said party. In lamens terms, if the cops showed up, there could be hella trouble for all "of age" atttendees for doing anything in the presence of a minor without that minors parent or legal guardian being present.

Could also be a good idea to look at what else is being done on mondays.....hence the gatlinburg night.
Personally...my weeknights aren't happeneing right now. Perhaps in a month or so, yes....but at that point, i'm not sure if i'd wanna take a trip even if i had the next day off, cus of the work stress i am about to hit when school goes back.
Regardless, ive done the mo'town thing, and its gonna be really hard to get something going, more especially, IF its on a weeknight. Most people bitch about having to drive 10 minutes, muchless 30-45.
Good luck no less...
