Im doing a burlesque show or two at Sanctus.

This puzzled me at first, as I wasn't precisely sure of the intention, or even the Precise definition. So I looked it up.

This intrigued me quite a bit at first, wondering whether we were getting a standup comedy act, or if I was going to have to have some cash on hand for tips. Then after Sanctus, having seen the shadow boxes for the first time.. I put 2 & 2 together and got dissapointment..

Please tell us it isn't so!

It's only half as fun if you can't see the bouncy jigglies!

No there will be bouncy gigglies. I can assure you I will not diossappoint. no shadow boxes. Maybe a bit of humor in one of the acts. but you will get a better idea if you go to these two sites. this is exactly what you can expect. well go to the pictures from the shows........

Mm.. I must say, my hopes have soared! I'll have to make sure I've got a good seat, front row.

Oh, wait.. that's the dance floor.. Umm.. Well, either I have to learn to dance REALLY quickly.. or I'll just have to make due..

If I may be so bold as to ask, is this a personal pleasure, or an employment oppurtunity for you? I must admit I don't know alot of what I should about most the regulars here.

I'd offer to take pictures for you, but I don't own a camera that doesn't require a computer attached, and they're not exactly my boobies to be sharing

I'm not sure what the polite protocal is in such a situation, so better to err on the side of caution.

well there will be a few professional photographers there.

It is up to the discretion of Blue Cats whether or not other cameras will be allowed. But they have never banned cameras before. I will ask that pictures from the show not be published on the internet without my prior approval. Just email them to me first.

However that raises an interesting point......I need someone to videotape...pm me , thanks.

It not really tradition to tip the burlesque acts. that would make me a stripper. Thats not what burlesque is about. Burlesque is about the drama, the theatre, the tease, the act of, and the interpretation of the female (and actually a few male) sexuality.

However the thought did cross my mind to allow patrons to throw money onstage if you feel compelled, and give it all to Lady Ivanna, due to the car accident. But this aint the shove a bill in the garter thing.

And the performance will be on the main stage. standing (or dancing) room only. I certainly hope you aint dancing while Im doin my thing! There will be other performances too, I beleive a band, maybe some fire eaters......this is going to be huge.

And I work for a company , 40 hours a week, with my clothes on. Burlesque is a hard sell here in the Bible belt so I dont expect to make that a career. So this is pure fun for me.

Ahh, I hadn't realized it was going to be so large a departure from the typical sanctus (for all the 2 I've actually been to.) I realize my questions, and my outlook, are a bit naieve, and I'll admit there's good reason for that. But I thank you for making it clear, and I'd certainly be willing to donate to so worthy a cause, if indeed you do decide to go that route. And if not, hey, just pass a hat!

I really hate that I'm going to miss your show Heather but since I'll be in Detrtoit, it'll be hard to see from that far away. I wish you the best of luck and hope to someday catch a show myself.

:) Thank you so much, Arkady! Even if I wasn't all crippled & shit, all 3 midgets will be with me since their father doesn't do ANYTHING for Halloween except church stuff. If, for whatever reason, plans were to change and we get to go, I will let you know.

Halloween will ALSO be a release party for Hungry Lucy's new CD "To Kill A King" available Nov 2. Along with sticker, postcard and poster giveaways we have two copies of the new CD "To Kill A King" we are going to be giving away the 31st.... Two days before it available anywhere to be purchased!!!!!!
