BTW: That's Moi dix mois. It's cool to see there are other visual kei / J-rock fans around.
To keep relevance to the topic of this thread, here's my list.
Bara no Seido - Malice Mizer : A great operatic, moody, industrial-oriented LP out there. "Mayonaka ni Kawashite Yakusoku" is a great track. Mana kicks ass.
Gauze - Dir en grey : Every song on this album is awesome, "Cage" being my favorite, they even made videos for every song on this LP.
Disentegration - the Cure : I played the cassette of this to death when it came out and I had to buy another one because it wore out. "Lullaby" is my favorite track.
Spooky - Lush : The Sirens of "Shoegazing". I love the etherealness of this LP. My fav track is "Superblast".
Reading, Writing, & Arithmetic - The Sundays : Another LP that I enjoyed every track. Also wore this cassette out back when it came out. I love the song "Joy".
Six Ugly - Dir en grey : It's just an EP, but it's got awesome tracks, especially "Umbrella".
Merveilles - Malice Mizer : I love the combination of rock, synth-pop, and elements of classical music. "Au Revoir" is a beautiful song and video. I liked both Gackt and Klaha's period of Malice Mizer.
Songs from the Big Chair - Tears for Fears : This LP got me into liking music when I picked it up when it first came out. "Everybody wants to Rule the World" is a classic.
Kisou - Dir en grey : Another collection of great songs which demonstates how amazingly talented these guys are as musicians.
"Embryo" is my favorite track.
Nocturnal Opera - Moi dix mois : A recent release, but it's appealing to me like Malice Mizer's "Bara no Seido". Mana is friggin' awesome! "monophobia" is my favorite track.
Other honorable mentions:
The Joshua Tree - U2
Gala - Lush
Kiss me, Kiss me, Kiss me - The Cure
Gagaku - Miyavi
Loveless - My Bloody Valentine
Nevermind - Nirvana
Macabre - Dir en grey
