Punk rock?
Not all punk was about social movements, although I agree the majority were. Some of it to me was good ole'smart non sense and or intensely humorous. The Dead Milkmen perfect example, or The Cramps....both punk bands in my opinion. There are so many sub genre's in punk. I disagree with the statement "punk is dead".! http://www.scullsoup.com http://www.legbone.com http://www.lowbudgets.com thats just 3 great "punk" bands off the top of my head. I figure some people would like to kill it...but give it up...its un-killable. Punk is music, and in my opinion humans cant BE punk. How many people say "Hey there is Ronald...he is Rap", or "I think I'm bluegrass", "He's Death Metal"? You can just feel it, love it, listen to it, live, and learn by it....and even continue to hate it.....but it AINT going away! yo!

speaking of scull soup, they're coming to town in a few days
check out the new metro pulse, it's got the listing
I don't think I'm going to be able to make it(going out of town), but I've heard from a couple other people about them, I'll probably check em out if they come back to town again

Actually "punk" is also a noun.
From Dictionary.com:
punk1 Audio pronunciation of "punk" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pngk)
n.
1. Slang.
1. A young person, especially a member of a rebellious counterculture group.
2. An inexperienced young man.
punk
adj : of very poor quality [syn: bum, cheap, cheesy, chintzy, crummy, sleazy, tinny] n 1: an aggressive and violent young criminal [syn: hood, hoodlum, goon, thug, tough, toughie, strong-armer] 2: substance that smolders when ignited; used to light fuses (especially fireworks) 3: material for starting a fire [syn: kindling, tinder, touchwood, spunk] 4: a teenager or young adult who is a performer (or enthusiast) of punk rock and a member of the punk youth subculture [syn: punk rocker] 5: rock music with deliberately offensive lyrics expressing anger and social alienation; in part a reaction against progressive rock [syn: punk rock]
Just because people still make punk music doesn't mean to me that punk isn't dead. Just my opinion though...
