i don't know how many of you read realms of fantasy, but in the current issue there's an interesting little story about goths called all fish and dracula. unfortunately you can't read the whole thing online, but it's available at most any bookstore.
the moral of the story seems to be this: don't dress as a goth in whitby on halloween or you'll be eaten by undead fish.
good to know.

"My Good Doctor" was my favorite. A lovely complication of ethics.
Edit...that's "The Good Doctor", not "My Good Docto"r.
yeah, i read 'all fish and dracula' when i was really tired, and i wondered if it would be better had i not been so sleepy. apparently not.
i haven't read 'the good doctor' yet, as i tend to skip around, but terri windling's article about j.m. barrie was really interesting. i keep randomly telling people different bits from the article.
"did you know that so many kids got injured from jumping off of their beds while trying to fly after 'peter pan' opened that barrie had to go back and write in the part about pixie dust?"
"did you know that barrie was most likely impotent?"
"did you know that 'peter pan' was originally titled 'the great white father?'"
etc.

Windlings return was awesome. She harps on Disney and bit too much but still one of the most literate explorers of fantasy and myth in literature.
Makes me wanna see that movie Johnny Depp was in. The one about Barrie.
I told my wife that story about the pixie dust . I just find it so cheesey yet so...I don't know funny I guess. Imagine Barrie walking home mumbling "Great Kids are hurting themselves trying to fly now what to do what to do what to do..."

i saw 'finding neverland' quite recently and was rather under whelmed, considering all of the hype that it's garnered thus far. i found terri windling's article to be much more satisfying for a back story on peter pan. but that's just my opinion. and really, you can't go too wrong supporting johnny depp or kate winslet, as far as i'm concerned.
