Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

Post by Kamivox »

I think this movie is worth seeing. It was pretty dark and you would think that Burton directed this flick. Jim Carrey played a complete bastard so well, I wanted to clobber the guy.

It may not be good for really young kids. There are some freaky moments with snakes and I saw a parent leaving with their child during the movie.

Oh, I'm totally taking my nine year old to see it because he is on the 9th book and adores them. I wonder if I should read the first 3 beforehand?

I've actually been meaning to pick up some of the books and read them; they look quite good. Maybe I'll do that on my vacation and see the movie at the end of the week.

I saw it tonight and enjoyed it, especially the makeup, costumes and sets...however, my son who read the books was quite disgusted because they apparently deviate quite a lot from the books, especially in the order of events...

i loved the visual style of this movie, but there seemed to be a couple of big plot holes, like the spy glasses and whatnot.

I haven't read the books, but i think this was only based on the first three books. There's probly going to be a sequel.
