HR 181

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

HR 181

Post by Russo »

If you have children, or ever plan on having kids, please please please read this.

President Bush has initiated an act that would force all children, beginning in pre-school, to undergo mandatory government-regulated mental health screenings. The results of the screenings will then go directly to the government with or without consent of the parents. Congressman Ron Paul has proposed a bill, HR 181, that would prohibit the govenment from conducting screenings without the express written consent of a parent. Read about it here.

Don't let the government do this to your children! Spread the word about HR 181.

I don't know if that's the same bill or not, but the one that passed a few months ago is even scarier. It requires mandatory screening for whether the child should be placed on mood-altering drugs such as Prozac. Not only that, but if the parent disagrees with the diagnosis, they can be charged with child abuse.

It's called the "New Freedom Initiative", I believe.

Finally, the government can keep better tabs on the miscreants of society.

The next logical step will be to pass a similar bill allowing them to screen newborns, or hell, maybe even children in utero, since everyone knows that God thinks kids are alive and have perfectly malleable mi--, er, souls from the instant they're conceived.

That way, they can drug and brainwash the liberal bastards into proper conservative form before they can be a nuisance to the Republic.

Heil Bush! Heil Bush!

But what I find interesting is that Ron Paul, who is spearheading HR 181, is a REPUBLICAN FROM TEXAS. Hmm, who knew?

Which brings one to a very important - some might even say spiritual - question: Spit, or swallow?

Have you told your mother this?

What does that have to do with mental health screenings?

The more I learn about the government, the more it scares the shit out of me. And no matter how much we protest and complain, there's probably nothing we can really do about it. In a few decades the world, the US in patricular, will be a very scary and depressing place.

Isn't it already a scary and depressing place to live?
it is to me...
Next thing you know... kids will be wearing those electric dog leashes that shock the kid when he/she walks 100 feet away from the parents or designated guardians.

do these people not understand that mental health is not ALWAYS consistent, and can change throughout one's life?
especially childhood!!

forgive me for skimming, but i only read that they would be doing it around preschool age........ correct?
many disorders develop later, like in adolescence.
so what fucking good would it do?

did i miss something? wtf?!
did i miss another goddamn memo??!!!

I tried the homeschooling thing..no workie for me. And noooo i'm not a lazy ass..my daughter has a mild learning disability and i didn't feel equipped to help her.

..what do you mean poorly made japanese cars? Shnugga..my tercel has nearly 200k and has never had any problems..and my mom drove it off the lot with 5 miles when i was a teenager.

On topic..

I -seriously- doubt they would be able to pass anything like that without the consent of parents..seriously..we have to sign a permission slip just to let our kids sit and watch bleary eyed as thier wrinkled and over-permed health teacher unrolls a condom on a banana.

..they could make it like everything else..where no..you dont -have- to get immunizations..but you cant enroll in school if you dont. now -that- i could see..no screening=no school..meh...maybe they could do it afterall. I'm rambling aren't i. sorry...
