S A W

Post by Aerick Ravenheart »

I rented this the other night expecting another big budget Hollywood horror film, and what I saw was a brilliant surprisingly lowbudget horror/thriller. This was the best serial killer movie I've seen since Se7en. There were nice and gory special effects with a pleasant lack of CGI, outstanding acting from Cary Elwes and Danny Glover, and a script with twists and turns and false endings. I was more than impressed and will soon be adding this one to my collection. I'd like to hear what others thought of this one.

My hopes were high, but I really was not impressed with this one. The first half or so was a fun ride, but by the end I really was starting to not give a shit. And the final twist? Not sure I see how that was really even possible.

Great premise, really liked the first half, but it just got too ridiculous for me. I'd still give it a respectable 3 out of 5. It was a good rental. "Bob" knows I've seen worse horror movies!

I think we may have seen a different movie. Better than Se7en? Surely you jest.....not even a comparison.

I enjoyed the trailer much more than the actual movie. Fucking hollywood, next I guess you'll tell me they are remaking "War of the Worlds" with Tom Cruise.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD.

I thought it was pretty good, though i had a small problem with the guy lying on the floor motionless for 8 hours. I also hated the makep. It looked terrible.

Other than that, i liked it,

theres not alot of comparison at all to se7en and saw
thats just what people with no bar of comparison use.
se7en - religious killer, proving a point via his own obsessions.
saw - low budget flick shot in 8 fucking days or some crazy shit like that about the depths of how bad you would stake revenge on the everyday fucks if ya could.

no comparison. one wanted to be a legend. the other wanted revenge.
both good movies but se7en is a classic.

It was a pretty good story but i couldnt help but laugh out loud at the shit dialogue and acting. If you liked it, cool. I am not trying to diss anyone's taste in movies. Different strokes for different folks i guess.
