I miss the days when you had to skip school or call in sick to work and go stand in a line for hours if you wanted to get seats....

it was a better system. If you truly wanted tickets you had to prove it through action, not just have an internet connection and a credit card.

thats how we got our tickets. one of our friends went to atlanta and camped out at the box office.

I plan to see them perform at coachella. 81$ and you see them, as well as alot of other bands for one day. it's not really that bad of an idea...if you're willing to travel. :twisted:

The thought of possibly being able to see DJ Krush, Sloan and Miss Kittin all on the same day is weird enough to make me wish I could go to Coachella. Other than that, the band list is surprisingly boring. Well, I guess Wolf Eyes would be "interesting" and the Arcade Fire might be alright, but other than that... a reunited Bauhaus is the last thing I need to see. But that's probably just because I hate Peter Murphy and the fact that anyone would prefer his solo stuff to Love and Rockets.

Oh but... maybe I'm missing the point here, but what's the big deal about seeing NIN at this point? I mean, OK, I liked Pretty Hate Machine a lot... FIFTEEN YEARS AGO! The Downward Spiral was OK for a while. But you know... I've moved on, he stopped making good music, and in retrospect, peaked with Broken. The Downward Spiral was an entirely too-accurate album name. When the remixes are more entertaining than the proper album, that's a sign.

And paying eBay prices for a ticket is just, to quote Ethyl Meatplow, "Smoking on the Devil's Johnson".

This album really is going to stomp ass.

The point, for me, was not to miss The Dresden Dolls.........AGAIN. They were in Atlanta last October, but the bebe was brand new.

Reznor has yet to make a bad album. He may be an ass in RL but he's aces in the studio.

Is that the whole point, to get that "new Trent buzz" that tastes just like the old one?

I'm really trying to understand. But I just can't. Being excited about this music makes as much sense to me as someone who grew up on Aerosmith being excited about a new Aerosmith album. Maybe it's harsh to say that this song is as much worse than Broken as "Honkin' on Bobo" was than "Toys in the Attic", but that's how it sounds to my ears. YMMV.

That doesn't mean it's not a good song. I could care less if the beat is stolen or if it's somewhat juvenile. A good song is a good song.

Fair point that derivative music isn't always bad.

But you would think that after 20 years in the music business (remember, Trent was in a band before NIN) someone would either find their own sound or unique blend of sounds.

Sure, I like some derivative music too. I know that The Real Tuesday Weld sounds like Serge Gainsborough. I know early Belle and Sebastian sounds like Nick Drake. Etc.

But I still think "The Hand That Feeds" is a really, really bad song. I honestly think it sounds like a joke.

Im holding my oppinions on "The Hand That Feeds" until I hear the entire album.

And the comparision jack made about getting excited about new NIN being excited about new Aerosmith I have this to say. Im not an Aerosmith fan however if John Bonham were still alive and Zeppelin said they were releasing a new album or going on tour I would be crapping my pants with joy.

Yeah you have better taste in music than us Jack is that what you want to hear? Fuck man can't people be excited about bands they think are good?
