bienvenido a costa rica!

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

bienvenido a costa rica!

Post by naturegrrl »

hola!
we're doing great here in our little village of cerro plano, except for the horrible bank robbery/hostage situation that happened about a week after i got here (did that make the news in knoxville? 9 dead, 17 injuries and dozens of hostages in santa elena... happened about 25 meters from where i lived before i got my apt.)
anyway... we're living in a sweet apt. eating ice cream every day, recovering from my year at hell job. i'm trying to find some research to do, but that's been harder than i thought. we have coatis and agoutis in our yard, and i've been teaching myself spanish and tree identification. it rocks. i encourage every one of you to marry a man with well off relatives who will leave you an inheritance.
and check out this awesome song (god, i hope this is right) ni tu ni nadie by fey. sounds just like costa rican depeche mode. :D

I just had a coworker come back from Costa Rica; she appeared to really enjoy her time there.

Congrats on that. Its good to be at a place that has the opportunity for field study.

I don't know if I agree with the sounding like Depeche Mode, but the Fey song is cute. A friend of mine in Raleigh introduced me to that one. Fey has a relatively new cd out, but I haven't heard anything off of it yet. I tend to have a harbored interest in Latin-flavored music, so if you hear anything else cool, don't hesitate to pass it along.
I'm not wicked. I'm just viciously mischievous.

How odd, my best friends just had one of our yearly get-togethers in Costa Rica. Sadly, I could not be with them due to this blasted illness...Still, small world.
