I for one...never want to get married....legally anyways...something like a love ceremony....(handfasting) maybe....but the whole abstienance thing is just.....stupid..I mean ppl have sex, its pretty much why we're here ,to procreate...who really wants to NOT have sex? not me...

Sex is a maturity issue...and aren't you underage anyways? Sex has nothing to do with marriage...unless you are abstaining for religious reasons...which proves my former point. Look at all the uber mature girls walking about that are preggerz...now look at how many of them have the father to support them. If you are all about some procreating...stop using condoms...start taking prenatial vitimans...drop your B.C...

I mean if you are all about some procreating...have sex to breed...not for peasure.

well yeah procreateing is what we're here for..I did not say thats what I was going to go out and do. I'm not even sure If I want kids so I'm not gonna go out and get preggo and yes I'm underage...but (I'm not assuming anything) you were probably haveing sex at my age too? and yes I use protection...if I wasn't useing it I wouldn't do it! like they say "no glove no love"....I just say with abstienance its stupid. do it if you want yes its your choice. But If you have the urge don't fight it...

I had sex when I was underage, but I don't really think that's an issue. I agree with Coor, it's the maturity that matters. I didn't wait until I was of legal age or married, I waited until I was ready and had found the right person. Because that's what felt right to me, and I have never regretted it at all. I'm not against abstinance, my point was just that I would like to know the person as much as I possibly can before I choose to spend my life with them.

And thinking of "The Scream"...it was stolen a few months ago, does anyone know if it was ever found? That's really sad if not, it's a very beautiful and emotional painting. :-(

Being able to fight the urge to have sex...is much more mature than giving into it. If you fuck every piece of dick that you want that comes along...you should not be having sex. That is the maturity issue that we are talking about...Now provided that you are underage I will scale down the grown up talk and use laymens terms...

1) Condoms break...
2) Condoms don't protect against all STD's
3) Giving in to all of your wants and desires does not make you "mature" in fact...in makes you more childish...

Now...We all know the consequences of sex...so I'm not going to get into all of that...and I'm not a big fan of the age being an issue...

But you tell me this...

Name off 2 14 year olds <one boy, one girl> that have a child that can emotionally and financially take care of a child...Hell...15...or 16...

The chances are that you can't. Even having 2 parents of the same age doesn't mean that they can...So in turn having sex prior to marriage <which I have done> is just a bad finacial decision.

Nothing...I do it all the time...but there is something missing with her argument... the adult part...I agree with you entirely...however...this is all based off of Lizard Princess's responses...just saying that if that is her outlook...maybe she should try abstaining before she discredits it...and by her responses...it couldn't hurt.[/code]

ahhh understood.

I just hate the fact that the church pushes abstinance so hard then covers up child molestation amoung the clergey like it's no big deal.
Maybe if some of those priests were not so repressed by their religion, horrible acts like that would happen less often.

To an extent I agree with that. I could see people brought up in strict religious families that really push the whole supression of sexual urges of any degree forming psycological problems relating to sex with relative ease.

I totally agree that the whole sex thing is all about personal responsibility!!!! My ex made the personal, conscious choice to have an affair. No, it actually had nothing to do with him being a baptist preacher......however, the teachings of that particular sect of baptist helped to contribute to his mental repressions.

The way I see it.....sex is a natural, human function. We were created to indulge in it......however, with that, comes personal responsibility to not breed at random and to not spread disease. If a person chooses to abstain from sex for personal reasons, peachy keen; however, it should not be because society/organized religion/whatever dictates it.....it should be a personal choice.

I only have one arguement with all of this, and that is...Sex is natural...But you used the word 'creation'...And Almost all religions that practice the theory...Disagree with fornication...Therefore...We are not 'created' to indulge in sex...But in the theory of evolution...We are actually meant to breed...And disease is all relative in evolution...Population control...So...But as far as the abstainence discussion...I totally agree...And since that is the point of this thread...Let's just leave it at that...I'm not trying to tear into you, pryjmaty...I never have...But I just had to say that...
