the long and short of it is
everyone played the best set i've ever seen them play due to the following
worry about rain all week
drive all the way there
get shit faced
get ran off by cops
move to new location
transport pa and power across three acres of muddy woods while drunk
get started extremely late
blood poured
fights broke out
bobby vomit smashed his own face several times with one of his record players
the show ended at about 6 am
here is the link to the pics

here is a review that shawn from moribund wrote
Details? How about meeting some of the most nicest people I've ever met! Some for the second time around. Kevin, Todd, Leann(i'm probably butchering her name, sorry!), Andrew(sorry you were sick man), Bobby Vomit & Crew, Mitch, dude with the boombox during the drama, etc.
The ATL crew definately represented, nice to see the long distance homies. With them and Todd/Kevin, they definately made me feel at home. Fuck, Athens, TN is BEAUTIFUL. Fucking rolling hills, farmland, fields, smelled all green and clean.
Mad props goes out to Kevin who hosted the original site. He placed mulch out in case it rained so people wouldn't get muddy, he had a bathroom area designated, tiki torches all along the routes (he & I both filled them up, damn container was HEAVY), tables for the performers, even went to the neighbors to find out if it would be ok for the loud sounds. Needless to say all of Kevin's work went in vain due to some dipshits somewhere (The Mennonite on the Hill, which by the way sounds like a KILLER release title, who wants to do something????) so after the second showing of the cops to tell us to stop, we had to stop. Cop claimed that we had 3 anonymous calls in 5 minutes about the loud noises, from "ROCK" bands no less!!!! Noise haven't even started yet. Cop gave some bullshit comment that he couldn't even hear his radio while he was in the car, up on the "hill" where Kevin's driveway was. I call bullshit. Two bands that played were amazingly good. Definately not what I expected. Trombone player ruled!!!!
Anyway, when the cops arrived, Wilderness was setting up. Cops left, Wilderness appeared to still be setting up, who knows, maybe just talking instead of packing but someone started turning something on, didn't want another hassle from cops so I pulled the power from the house with the help of Travis.
After gathering up the cables (Kevin & I), the tables (thanks guys!), and the PA (Mitch!) we took all our shit and ran to Todd's hood. Drudging through Todd's woods, the "short yet hard" way through the woods, we recabled the power so we could jam again. Wilderness/Tommy started setting their gear up. Knives in Apples, "carpet" on the floor style, gear everywhere, during this time I was walking to the truck to get some stuff and they just exploded the fucking silence. Their set was pretty good stuff, one thing I can say is Nicki can SCREAM/SQUEEL for a moment I thought it was feedback but after seeing her in NC I knew it was her voice. When I got back is when they just finished. Sucked, wished it was longer.
Graham/Travis did a pretty killer set. Long intro of gurgling strange noises coming from Graham's laptop. They think it was too long (the intro) but I think it was PERFECT, made me anxious for them to rock out and when that time came, boy they did it for fucking sure. Great abrasive stuff. Probably due to it being so late, they made their set fairly short. Short & Sweet, alas it would be nice to be longer but due to moving to another place, setting up, what can ya do.
the mantis. This dude is insane. Mike let off some steam, made some intense noises with his pedals with Todd backing him up on vocals. Very harsh with a slight PE style in certain points. Got hit with an effects pedal that mike apparently got frustrated with, in the leg, which I'm starting to see a trend with people throwing stuff and hitting me in the leg with it. All joking aside it was a great set, Mike finally got tired and did a table sweep of all his gear and everything went crashing to the ground. Was it worth it? Fuck yeah! Much better than the set I saw in Atlanta but I'm thinking everyone's set I saw was better.
Bobby Vomit was INSANE!!!!! 5 OLD heavy Turntables, one was one of the 3 armed ones that RRRON used in the past, can't remember the name of it, but another had two I think??? Anyway, whole set was nothing but records being played on all these players. Not just any normal records, he cut them out, made shapes, made faces (The BAT record RULED!!!!!) and painted them. I scored 2 of the PacMan Ghost looking ones. They were definately works of art. Shame Bobby, near the end of his set took the Bat one and smashed it over his head. His set was loud, mind numbing with all the sounds going on, record skippings, scratching noises, melodies,. etc. Finale, Bobby smashing records on his headm throwing records up in the air & into the crowd, finally grabbing the heavy turntable and repeatedly smashing his head into the center circle area. Alison(my g/f) counting 5 times he did this. Bloodied and tired, Bobby Vomit was done. AMAZING.
<during the packing of Bobby Vomit's gear>
Robert and others started to get into a huge argument, it started earlier but it worsened after Bobby Vomit's set, shoving, cussing, threats, etc. It was tense, scary, and frankly CRAZY. A mob was definately against robert. Todd, obviously tired of Robert's antics, asked him to leave his property, of course Robert refused, asking why, cussing, etc. He just wouldn't leave, shoving ensued, some punches, an almost tiki torch stabbing, log throwing, etc. People were totally pissed, alcohol mixed in with everyone being grumpy from moving to another place, being late, etc. Finally wilderness/Tommy got robert to go with them. Todd had respect for them, just not Robert.
After they finally left, which took forever, I finally got my gear setup and proceeded to play. Todd brought out the fog machine just for me which was really crazy. Imagine woods, night, fog machine, PE. WOAH Theme of the night for Moribund was Generation Hate. I played the following tracks, all new (If I offended anyone, tough shit, grow up, live a little, they are just WORDS, fuck they aren't even my words for the most part although my reparations comment rings a lot of truth from my end):
Stars & Stripes are Broken (Control/Sektion B "cover" song off their dvdr performance release)
God Hates Fags (anti fag/US song)
White Disease (black racism & laziness)
Untitled (harsh noise contact mic crowd "input" track, me thrashing about with my tin with coins, unplugged my cable twice before asking Alison to hold it while I freaked out. Nice moments of pauses, crowd thrashing, vocal breathing. Some people were too scared to get up from. I even called them to come up front, they just stared at me blankly.
Roper[b] (did I even do this one? I'm hazy on this, white racist track)
[b]Rape Kit (psycho rape track, yeah I'm a faker)
My set ended at 5:30am.
Meson was convinced to do his set (he didn't want to, bad mood, I can understand that) but his set was pretty sweet. Harsh death industrial sounds ringing through the woods. Him & Melissa wrestling about, screaming, etc. Woah! Finale, meson dancing do some hard techno/gabber something or another. Very cool stuff for sure. Wished he was in a better mood.
