If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Also, updating WP's xanga with pics when you get a new shipment in - just steal the images of what you ordered from the company's website.

Free Advertising & Cheap Marketing Stuff:

1) Since you have Bone's mother's stuff there, you're having a showing that would go for FREE in the MP local gallery listings.
Same will be true any time you feature one-of-a-kind items by a clothing designer, or have paintings by one artist or several artists with a similar theme.

2) See my previous suggestion.

3) Have Adam make a clear line drawing logo for the store; pick a font for the store name.

4) Have a Grand Opening. After the date is set and the planning starts, write up a press release and send it to all the local papers, including MP.

5) Get a dang outdoor sign, permanent, using the logo and title (store name in chosen font).

6) Email local name bloggers such as South Knox Bubba with news about your store & the Grand Opening.

7) Contact the fashion editor at the Sentinel & MP to do a story about Bone's Mom's work - they'll mention Wasted Potential.

8) If you have another clothing designer bring in original clothing, repeat steps 1, 7, & the press release bit. If they're local, add step 6.

9) Larger flyers using the logo and title (store name in chosen font) posted where the customers are.

10) You've got a good store front, with big interesting windows - use it!
Stand outside and pretend you don't know what's in there.
Can you easily tell what kind of store it is?
Is there a store name &/or logo (store name in chosen font) on at least one of the windows? Flyers taped there give a fly-by-night look.
Are the name & logo large, clearly visible, and readable?
If you were walking by, would anything catch your eye enough to stop and walk in?
If you were driving by, would anything make you want to park and come back?
Are the days & hours clearly posted? Add the logo & title here, too.

Anywho, some thoughts from the marketing & advertising classes of yore...

Thanks for your input JaNell. Most of those things we know we need to work on, but our day jobs and lives sort of get in the way. And really being lazy and unmotivated is why we are wasted potential....I however, had not thought of the free gallery listing....very cool.

Pull for the teen market.

Post by Scorptrio »

My son LostSoul, whom a lot of you know has considerable class and style, actually said that he was going to hit up his mother for some Hot Topic gift certificates. Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Does wasted potential have clothes that would fit and appeal to the darkest-dressed of male teens? I told him that we would have to go by Wasted Potential before we considered supporting the corporate monster.

Hey, y'all could ask me to help with some of that, you know; it might keep me out of trouble for a little while if nothing else. ;)

Oh, yeah - GIFT CERTIFICATES!!!

Scorp - What size does the Lessor Evil wear in pants & stuff? Does he wear skirts, too? If so, what's his girl size? If I know what people need, I can be watching for it when I'm out & about and then consign it at the Wasted for ya.

My baby bat has found he loves kilts, so I imagine (and hope) he'll be looking for skirts in the near future. He's a 30, but I don't know what that translates to.

Also, are/will you carry Sinister Candy? I love thier stuff, but I can never order online. (I'm a weird size, so I have to try it on)

hoping to stop by today with Living in Darkness.

We didn't even know it, but apparently we were featured on "The Shopping Bag" a local shopping blog- http://blogs.knoxnews.com/knx/shopping/

Rock & Goth – The New Black
Brand spanking new clothing store, Wasted Potential, opened just weeks ago in the Old City, with what else, but a fashion parade at an alternative dance night.

Goths, Rockabillies, and the downright hip are bound to find something to wear to their next gig. There’s a mix of Rocker t-shirts ($20) with slogans rejected from Golden Books, such as ‘Your daddy drinks because you cry’, romantic ruffled shirts and raunchy underwear. Although, that might be a little edgy for me, I couldn’t pass up floaty Indian skirts in floral and sari fabrics, for a cool $20 each. And true to its name, the shop doesn’t open until 1.30pm each day - talk about living like a rock star.

Wasted Potential, Upstairs at 105 West Jackson Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37902

That is so awesome!

New shirts in this week!

Blonde Redhead, Fantomas, Ministry, I <3 Satan, Tiger Army, Flogging Molly, Pixies, Alkaline Trio!

New accessories in this week.

Arm Warmers
hand towels (for the dark and spooky at home)
cellphone fobs

New consignment as well. Describing all the consignment is time/space impossible but there is a particularly cute floor legenth strech velvet jacket (black as if you had a doubt).

Finally, there are still a few pair of bloomers left. get them while you can, these may not be available again for a while.
