And for all of the people who do not read Slashdot daily. You are missing out on the dumbest and most infamous video game case ratings case going on ever. Because, the violence was just a prequel of bitching to the real case against the game. That's right, pixelated nudity is the true evil. And now the House of Representatives will be involved into an investigation of Rockstar Games over the Hot Coffee scandal. The lowdown on the situation is basically that a mod group found a way to unlock a sex game in the PC version of the game that is otherwise unlockable. Of course, since the content was found to exist; it has also been unlocked for the Xbox and PS2 versions via a game cheat program of some sorts. In response to this discovery, the ESRB forced a pull on the game to re-rate it from M (Mature) to AO (Adults Only). The difference between the two ratings being that M is kinda like and R rated movie where a 15 year old can't buy a ticket, but his parents can buy one for him. AO is like an NC-17 rated movie where anybody under the age of 17 is not allowed regardless. Because remember, no matter how much violence was in the latest Hollywood flick, heavens forbid anybody under the age of 17 be subjected to Dirty Shame. You know, I would much prefer that the government spend more money towards actual education of children so that they are smart enough to realize the difference between video games and reality than to spend millions on trying to figure out how to block content they deem unsuitable to children from entering the market.

Oh and I would be a bastard if I didn't give a link to the content in question.

The Hot Coffee just keeps on spilling. GTA San Andreas is now banned in Australia.

One of these days I'll need to actually get that game.

San Andreas, I mean.

I'm still depressed that they stopped selling US versions of Linux on the ps2, though, and can't bring myself to bother.

Too funny. Apparently, Jack Thompson is pissed at Amazon because of a bunch of bad reviews on his crappy book.

*Yeah, I should've known Amazon would pull the other image I posted a link to, but it was from vgcats.com I believe. I'm too lazy to look for it.*

Yeah... this just brings the sillyness to a whole new level... Prostitutes call for a ban on GTA.

Sigh.... "After slamming into two cars, McMillan told police that he thought he could outrun them because he played games from Rockstar's controversial Grand Theft Auto franchise"

This one was a 30 year old man so the blame it on GTA excuse didn't work for him thankfully. Two concurrent seven year jail terms... maybe that'll be long enough for him to realize that video game skills do not equal real life skills.
