Serenity

Post by jenna »

I got to go to the sneak preview on Mon. It was AWESOME!!!! Honestly, the best sci fi movie to come out in years. Many are comparing it to their 1st viewing of the original Star Wars. i dunno on that.... i was to young for the original Star Wars in theatres. It Was the first movie i saw, and it was at a drive-in, but i remember the swing set and M&M's more than the movie. i would definately say Serenity was an improvement, but that's not really fair. At any rate, it is way better than episodes 1 through 3, and any other sci fi that has come out in the past several years. Got some links on my blog to reviews and such (Sanguine_Jenna on Xanga). Was gonna post them here too, but couldn't get them to work.

JOSS WHEDON IS GOD

I really want to buy the Firefly dvd, since I've only seen a little bit of one show, and I LOVED Serenity! It kikt much ass...Joss Whedon is an amazing writer and director. BUFFY the Vampire Slayer is my alltime favorite show...ever. If I could only watch one thing for the rest of my life, including all films or shows period, it would be Buffy. It had comedy, horror, drama, romance, action, martial arts, sci-fi, fantasy...what more could you ask for? Joss Whedon knows how to entertain an audience, that's for sure. His characters are well developed and irresistable, and very memorable. Spike is the coolest vampire ever. And I like the actresses he usedi n the show. Sexy, but in a down to earth, girl next doorsy type of way. Alyson Hannigan and Amber Benson were great as Willow and Tara, the lesbian couple. Very true to real life lesbian relationships. And the way Joss went about everything in his scripts. It could be overthetop hilarious, or numbingly serious and dark(The Body). And with SERENITY, he did the same thing. Blending genres into one great story. No doubt the best sci-fi film I have seen in years. I hope to see a sequel in the near future. Rumours abound of a trilogy...hope that holds true. Joss Whedon is a fucking genious.
Live for today, it may be your last.
