Hi everyone :)
Hi there everyone Tracy here! I haven't seen the goth scene since living in Tampa FL! I am in Las Vegas now (no goth scene here at all) and moving very soon to Knoxville . Really though I am dreading the culture shock I know is going to happen once I move because I am not used to things not being 24 hours and really all i know in Knox is my family
so just saying hi for now! and was hoping to possibly chat up some people to ask a few questions about apts in the area and about the goth scene .
thanks in advance
Tracy

Hello and welcome.
Yes, I have wished you were dead. You are just another face in the crowd, someone who brings me suffering, someone I truely hate.

There's goths in Knoxville? Where?!
Actually we have a quite friendly scene, we have Sanctus once a month, Temple every Saturday, the coffee house on Fridays, but yeah pretty much the town dies after midnite outside of clubs and a few other places.
Anyways, Welcome to Our Darkness

There are some really nice apartments downtown these days - several older buildings have been converted to apartments recently, and they're upscale apartments by Knoxville standards.
Be careful, though. You're probably going to have sticker shock of the pleasant kind coming from Vegas. Look around, you can find good deals.
Right now, the most upscale of the downtown is sterchi lofts, that should give you an idea about pricing for the nicer places.
You may also want to consider buying, there are some pretty good deals around, particularly in Old North Knoxville if you like older houses. It's only about 5 minutes out of downtown.
We've also got our own goth real estate agent, he's TheInfiniteMonkey on the KG forum.

We are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further.

yes! listen to that! i moved down here from upstate New York where a small 2 bedroom 1 bath in the ghetto ran 800 + utilities (which was $400 one february, even though we kept the temperature at 50 degrees and walked around in woolies at all times). so, when i moved down here and had to find a place quick for my boyfriend and myself (he found a job, but only if he moved right away) i ended up getting a 2 bedroom on the wrong side of the tracks for $600 a month including utilities. I thought I was getting a bargainso i signed right away, but come to find out i was reamed in the arse.
moral to the rambling: housing here is CHEAP

hehehe try wearing black in mid august here in vegas when its 115 degrees outside
Phoenix was just as bad, but as for the scene death it might be that ole New Orleans Syndrome. You know too goth for its own good, give it a few years it'll spring back to unlife

Welcome to KG!
Look forward to meeting you when you get out this direction. While Knoxville has a serious case of cranialrectosis (head up the ass) sometimes, it's a pretty nice place to live all in all.
I hope to vist Vegas someday soon (mostly to see some of the shows there) perhaps you could recommend some places to check out when there.

Hiya Bone! thanks for the greeting I am not out till jan 9th but if you come to vegas before i haul ass let me know! hmm places to check out here..... my faves would be Nine fine irish men pub and resturaunt in NYNY casino (the roller coaster there is fun too hehehe) The Hookah Lounge, Double Down Saloon (alternative) and the best buffet is Bellagio (seriously worth the 25 bucks) the best hotel to stay at is stratosphere. best shows to see adult wise is "la femme" at the MGM. but yet there is soo much i haven't seen yet still things are way to friggen expensive . I soo wish they had a more alternative scene here :-/
