how many "noise"-related bands must I say I have listened to in order to satisfy your imaginary quota

we aren't talking about "noise" related bands
we're talking about noise

OK. I don't think you make good music. I don't think it takes very much skill, imagination, or technique to do what you do. And I think you take it way too seriously.

i find that more respectable (a little laughable) than hiding it in some quote from casper van beethoven
or trying to tell me you know all there is to know about noise because you know about wolf eyes

i don't see why you didn't just do that in the first place
in fact all i asked you to do was explain how that quote relates to me

in fact i still don't see how it does
nothing in that quote equates to me or my projects at all

you just don't like the shit
and you had to fucking tip toe around for what
two pages now

I've seen your type all too often over the years.

again
talking out of your ass
because you don't KNOW me
or my "TYPE"
i'd rather be your enemy than hear you call me friend

Good Christ, you're picky.

OK, how many noise bands do I have to have listened to in order to have a valid opinion of your music?

i find that more respectable (a little laughable)

Oh, if only you really were laughing.

I would be totally shocked if you could point to one negative comment about your music that you think is valid. You seem to think that anyone who doesn't like it is uninformed or ignorant. That's gay. When people don't like my music or my writing, I don't automatically go "Well, you just don't know enough about it! If you did, you'd like it!"

or trying to tell me you know all there is to know about noise because you know about wolf eyes

DUDE, CAN YOU EVEN READ?

Seriously. I said I have listened to noise and, as an example, said that I like Wolf Eyes. Why do you have to totally make shit up in order to make your argument? You cannot seriously say that you actually got, from my post, the meaning "I like Wolf Eyes, therefore I am an expert on noise music." And if you did, you are a total fucking moron. For real.

And, need I point out that you not only replied, but did it within, what, ten minutes of my post? Did you have an orgasm? I sure did.

the whole point is
you're a total dick
with a total lack of any kind of experience in this genre

(wolf eyes , sonic youth side projects, ambient music or otherwise)

you say i'm making shit up
but that's all you've done from the get go
saying that i do this all the time

which i just posted the other thread about my projects
which i never once responded

i asked you simple question
and you turned into a fucking fight

and since the admins of this board
enforce the rules on me and not anyone else
i have to fucking walk on eggshells to respond

and honestly jack
i swear to god i hope we can meet when i come back up there
i'd love for you to school me on how much you know about this genre

i mean i've only been running a noise label for like
close to 7 years now

ncc-records
you can google it if you wan't

so maybe we can have a sit down
and you can tell me where i went wrong
and maybe you can tell all the people that buy this shit from me that they're doing something wrong too
or the people that give good reviews
or the people that book and pay me to play

no sir this isn't a fucking hobby
wether you like the material or not

i respect critcism
i don't respect quotes from bands that have nothing to do with me
as some failed attempt to give a review of my material

i also don't respect people who want to do nothing but bad mouth for what ever reason

i also refuse to fight with any of you if the fucking rules on the playing field aren't even
i'd rather be your enemy than hear you call me friend

okay... lets stop the name calling folks.
I don't want to start having to admin on this thread, which I am getting real close to doing...... please feel free to debate freely but leave out the "you are a ...." kinda comments. They are both unproductive, and against forum policy.

Rec|use I appreciate your attempts to stay within the forum rules.
Thank You

Jack, as I said please watch the name calling...You are warned.

In other news this really belongs in the music section and such is :moved:

OK, bottom line.

Recluse, you say I have "a total lack" of experience in "this genre".

Tell me precisely how many noise albums I have to have listened to in order to have a valid opinion.

OK?

OK.

May I politely ask you to refrain from putting words in my mouth. I never said I am an expert on noise music, only that I believe I have heard enough of it to be able to say whether I like your band or not.

Why don't you actually answer the questions I am asking you. Especially this one:

Has it ever - EVER - happened that someone said they don't like your music and you respected their opinion without putting it down to a lack of knowledge or taste?

In other words, do you believe that music is subjective and therefore there are going to be people that dislike every band that exists? Or do you think your music is somehow so good in an objective sense that literally nobody could legitimately dislike it?

By all means, feel free to totally dodge these issues by saying something like "Why don't you ask me that in person?"

yes

if you read any of my posts i said i appreciate criticism
if done respectfully
and with a little bit of class

you didn't critique the music
you posted a quote from another band that has nothing to do with me or my projcets
and i asked you to explain yourself

at which point you turned it into a flame war

thanks for the publicity jack

This is fast becoming my favorite thread :D Reminds me of the old Flamegrape days...

You guys have got to visit the Jack V Flamegrape Farscape thread for some classic PVP (poster versus poster) combat...Or was that on the the private forum which may not be named Boards.

Edited to add: Oh Christ! I forgot about that hilarious piece of nonsense too!!!

I think that rec|use knows I'm not a noise fan but he's quite respectful of me and my opinions.

We share some of the same tastes in music...Jack, all three of us love Bright Eyes, so there, you have something in common.

You musicians and djs and experts make me giggle, All of you.
