I don't see why there has to be any worshipping going on...but if there was a group that perhaps just met and discussed matters of spirituality of maybe things like meditation, stress relief, yeah, like Mr. Clock said Unitarian sorta thing that would be cool.

The only thing I wish the goth community had more of that is kinda church-y is more of a feeling of community...like people to help each other out when your car breaks down or you need help moving. I like how churches take care of their own, but I think the majority of us are way to apathetic and self-involved to ever think of each other.

irony here is in every version of the bible BUT the king james :dup: edited for content!! :dup: version i seem to recall christ speaking AGAINST organized religion...........
remember kids: church as a definition is a conversation about religion.

but its so not cool these days to have a religion, talk about religion, ect. because the powers that be fucked it up that bad for everyone.
but your just as bad as they are if you say thats the entire religion or all its followers.
thats the same shit as saying that all muslims are jyhadist, all jews are orthodox, ect ect.

theres some people who treat it in moderation and teachings......... the bible was meant as kinda a users manual to the soul with storys that give you tips on shit not to do so your not an uber shitty person.
its editors and those who bend its word to control the masses and scare tactic them with God? yea those guys ... the hypochristians... are a bunch of fuckers. but thats not everyone.

Christianity was always a religion for the underdog, i mean Christ himself is kinda like the first punk rocker if you think about it.
he started the first scene for that. the rich kids and jocks beat up the christians, killed em, ect.... and then later the adapted the trend themselves.
from the back alley to the back of all your logos.

I think the majority of us are way to apathetic and self-involved to ever think of each other.

dont agree.
i think we hear that alot as an excuse for people like that.
but maybe im just too chairitable and miss this. no. i point out all the good shit people do around me to miz kitty almost every day
look at how much shit the scene contributed for hurricane katrina for example.
a good mark that maybe theres enough shitty people in the world is the statement you made. but i dont agree. theres alot of shitty people, but i think even in the biggest bastard they have things they openly give to, you just dont see it because you dont see that side of them.

It's good to see such a response to this... although I think he's looking more for interest than a debate.... I've been involved in the Christian Goth Community since the early 90's and it's not a new thing by any means.. If anyone has a sincere interest or questions.. please contact me...

Heh. I grew up Catholic & Penacostal. Yea...the speaking in tounges guys...

I'm not posting on this for several reasons...but all I'm going to say is...Your choice in clothing and music shuold not effect your religion...unless you are Southern Baptist...There's a shit ton of scripture about being conservative so that you don't cause others to sin...but moving on...I have always looked at Christianity as a lifestyle...with all of that emphasis on sin and whatnots...Becaues you know...You need to change some actions to be closer to Christ...You can't be moving towards God with a girl chained to your wall...Argue it all you want...but pick up the big book sometime...lots of stuff in there...

Now< i'm not saying it doesn't make you a Christina...Only God knows how much sin we all rack up, and I'm sure I'll have a hell of a wait to look at all the things I've done...but you can't be moving towards the life of Christ...or whatver...and live in a lifestyle that...essientally promotes sin...Check out the MySpace post for a rundown...

Ok...this is my official last PC post on KG...if people are sensetive then it's whatever and you can PM me. But this is a board for opinions, so unless I am attacking you directly...like using your name...Don't be offended....

See...sensetive subjects should not be brought up with such a PC crowd...

I'm done with this post...for now.

I agree somewhat. Helping others out is always a cool thing to do and is great for your karma, and several people from the scene have helped me when I neede it most. In this crowd I have made great friends that I would take a bullet for (some literally). In fact I say just add sermons to instrmental music and play them at events. That makes it a church.

You have:
1. Communion
2. Fellowship
3. Hhyms
4. A message

Lets buy a cathedral, add a bar and a kitchen , rip out he first three rows of pews, put in a dance floor and blinkies. It could work.

i'm a pagan christian myself, but i would be interested in hearing more about this. as long as this isn't one of those things where people push thier beliefs and structures, because that's just wierd.

Now Coor, your really testing my faith here...I been tieing lil girls (even Christian ones) to my wall, and maybe to a few other things for years now, and Jesus still loves me...were right with it.....he told me so....

Even Jerry Falwell dables in the stuff from time to time...and you know he got back in and right with the lord too...please don't tell me you believe all them good Christian boys are really good... ;)

let alone catholics...

So don't worry, I'm not if your not....

(PS, the above comments should be viewed as my warped sense of humor...not a serious discussion of the the issues ...and they certainly do not reflect the views of management...:D, I know this may come as a shock, but seriously even Christians do get beyond the missionary position from time to time)

Damn right. "Being christian" does not mean you don't get to have any fun.

It's not really an oxy-moron because more and more these days paganism has become a lifestyle. Sure you have pagans who do ritual and worship differant deities, but then you have people who use the christian mythos with pagan philosophy. In fact the church of Ireland has recognized The Lady (Goddess) as being a godhead as well. Being as Carnie is like a brother to me I can honestly say that this is an accurate description of his belief structure.

From the Horses Mouth:

My belief structure goes as this. I believe in the Earth, the Sky, and dreams, and i believe in a creator who gave us these. I also believe it is every man and woman's dire responsibility to guard and protect both the earth and the people in it, which we ALL are doing a shitty job of, and i do not believe in the Bible as most christians do, and i don't wear suits as most christians think you should. i think noone has the entire, unabridged answer, but we all have a small piece of it.
anything you would like me to clarify, i'd be glad to. i would've just said i was native american and had similar beliefs, but then you'd all probably see casino-driving, fake feather headband wearing Injuns. thank you.

'Preciate it. Been into the Native thing for a while and I don't do fake feather headbands or casinos. Damn Hollywood Injuns anyway.

To sum it up best...A quote from a converation I had with a Satanist last night.

"With Jesus it's all or nothing. You can't have one foot on the world and have one foot on the Lord...Because he will sweep out from under you and leave you to what you worshiped..."

As for the pagan beliefs with Christianity...There are SEVERAL Magick/Magic/Majic...Or however you spell it...throughout the good book. ;)

Way cool, I'd like to see that calendar myself...in my view puritanical attitudes toward sexuality and the body are simply not Christain, and never were,...they are a new world perversion...
