That's one of my top 5 favorite bands of all-time and I think certainly qualifies as "classic" Gothic. But uhhhh.... the problem with Christian Death is their later stuff is essentially a completely different band from the early stuff. I don't know how everyone else feels about it, but I would recommend any of the early Christian Death material (which has Rozz Williams as lead singer) and I'm not too crazy about post-Rozz Christian Death.

You might want to check out either of the big two Gothic compilation sets that I know of, The Goth Box and The Black Bible if you can find either of them around these days. Both have a good selection of older and newer Gothic stuff on it, and a lot of stuff that you would otherwise never hear that makes it all worthwhile.

I admire your try on some good-taste "injection". I'd stay in Atlanta...
Also, if that's Dark, or Melancholic music that is being mentioned here, I'd advise to get on the internet, and simply hear some music. Otherwise you'll get lost in the above mentioned suggestions of commercially oriented CRAP. A true Darkness doesn't make an easy-to-swallow art/music. It stays in the Shadows, waiting for it's time to come out and Obliterate. You have to really search for it. By yourself.

I just found a video in my cassette collection of indie goth videos, and Lacrimosa's "copycat" video is on there. Who knew?

Oh yes, the hefty half-naked girl tryes to do a highkick and Rod Stewart's evil twin is on drums - I think I actually fell off a chair while laughing so hard during that video. It was on "Beauty in Darkness" Video comps by Relapse Rec., if my memory serves me correctly.
