In Remembrance...

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

In Remembrance...

Post by Bone »

In remembrance of Sanctus (RIP), I was wondering if anyone would like to share their most memorable or favorite Sanctus moment.

For me it was getting to share something I helped create (Sanctus) with my mother and having her be a part of it with the fashion show. That along with how well everything (the fashion show in particular) that night was received by all of you, made that more than a Sanctus memory, but a very special personal one as well.

the first sanctus i attended i saw a girl with really long hair, and a lovely dress and wonderful tights, and i resolved to talk to her and began a beautiful friendship that has lasted all these years, that was the first of many frienships that started with sanctus
always fond memories for me

It's hard to pick out one memory, there have been so many excellent times. We feel like we found a lot more than friends at Sanctus...more like family.

As for the future, no worries.....we have unshakeable faith in KG's ability to throw a party!

Defiently the birth of the CCORC...That was the night before finals...and Paul kept asking me to go over to Zeo's...Zeo kept apologizing...James kept laughing hasterically, and it was the birth of my closest friendships.

memories eh...

The rumored ladies restroom bonanza at Fairbanks. Never was there when anything happaned but heck I know something or another was going on somehow.

Learning how to dance on Fairbanks carpet.

The first night green fairies were passed around.

The bubbles.

Smurf Sanctus when Silly smurf was the only smurf to smurf on the floor.

Me dressed as a mormon chasing people on the courtyard for conversion.

Anytime the dance floor stopped what they were doing to look for items droppsed...did I ever say that was class? That was class.

Zombie Sanctus.

The first few Sanctus's remember old friends from Lava.

When Vader took the time to show me around market square and tell me about Mercury in the old days.

The Sanctus when an innocent bystander walked in and asked me "What is this? Do they sell extacy here?"

When Arkady's mom surprised him with a birthday cake.

It wasn't an offical Sacntus...but the first dance night when everyone joined hands into a circle during "Space Oddity".

The last memory I share is multiple. It's that warrior soreness feeling after a good Sanctus when your body is griping at you because you moved so much but damn well it feels good. It feels like accomplishment or couch of the gods. It feels like laughing at your own mortality. Hell if I know it's the afterglow of Sanctus when the memory of the night collide into each other and your body denies yourself rest but it all feels wonderfull and clean. It's holy in it's on right and a rite for exuberance.

I remember joy and leave it at that.

I wish I had half of your ability of expression...preach it brother!
It is like laughing at your own mortality, lifting a finger to each year that tries to make you older. It feels like being part of a greater whole, knowing you'll see a friendly face every time (whether it happens to be wearing dripping zombie make up or not). And people like you CD, spread that joy. How can one not be caught up in your exuberence? If Sanctus is holy, you're it's prophet.
There are so many people I love here. I hope you know who you are. I don't want to make a list & sound like a night at the Oscars.
I also have too many memories of so many nights (and so many nights with too few memories) so I won't list them either. I just want to share that I remember the Joy as well.

Lots of great memories...

Wishing every time I went to Sanctus the crowd in Nashvegas were as friendly as the crowd at Sanctus...

Having my neck unexpectedly nibbled on while taking a breather from the dance floor at Fairbanks...

All the time spent in the shadow boxes at Blue cats, damn I'll miss those things...

Oh, did I mention all the wonderful people I met and how great it feels to share energy with all who danced...

How my feet ached the day after because I couldn't stop dancing...

Thanks again, we'll never forget

Oh so many memories! My favorite is Elf (Brian) 3 sheets to the west with Matthew Davis also 3 sheets to the west. Brian trying to kiss everyone (Poor Pixie) and Matthew wearing a kilt with nothing underneath (OH MY!) and trying to not fall over a chair and in doing so flashed me and poor Heather. I was blinded after that and had to go home. Never want to see that again! OH NO!

Sanctus (Fairbanks) will always hold some of my fondest memories, having been first introduced to this scene and the wonderful people in it.

My very first Sanctus, with KarlaBOO and ReddErin arguing together as to which one would say hi to me and then coming up separately

The Hokey Pokey, definitely the Hokey Pokey

D'artagnan with "Hel-lo bun-ny"

James, our most excellent bartender

The bathrooms, mens and womens. Always an adventure

The rare issues of Kinder-Goth, always a treat.

And our resident DMF, Celestial Dung, who is much missed these days, but still occasions us with rare visits.
Oh sad is the world. but I have Kavorkian's scarf.

My favorite Sancti were in the fairbanks days, when Erin was still around and such. Fairbanks just had a nice classy feel to it. I remember the first vividly, when Auralfixation was DJing and he got dumpstered by Darkvader, just like the old Lava days.

I guess one of my favorite times was when I had started hanging out with Nemesis, and a friend of his, who most refer to as "REMOVED BY DarkVader - YOU KNOW BETTER, BUTTERCUP..." kept giving me dirty looks. Finally we were out in the parking lot and she came out and started screaming at me, like I had any fucking clue they were involved or anything, "YOU KNOW HE"S FUCKING ME RIGHT!!" And I was like "ok, cool, whatever." And she proceededt to scream and cry and even puke I think. It was the best. I love it when I can make people scream and cry and puke without doing anything.

Hehe, and then we had the "cool table" we sat at (mostly the monkeys) at, which was just a funny concept.

I didn't have so many great memories from Bluecats, I'm just not a fan.

I think knowing I was at the first sanctus makes me feel really old.

The best times were at the old Fairbanks, I liked that place and atmostphere.

Playing rock, papers, scissors and winning to have my song played by a DJ.

Trying to wear Caustics pimp coat. Needless to say it was seveal sizes to small, and I was to drunk to care lol.

Being the only guy at the girls table, then being asked in the bathroom your either gay, lucky, or have balls to sit with them lol...

The dancing... ah, the dancing! What bliss! I love the memories of the dance floor filled with all its regulars... Shadow Dancer & CD & Merc & Fallen & all the rest. Watching Erin & Karla dance at the old Fairbanks to Peek a Boo. Trance & Karmakaze whirling around like human chain saws during a Ministry track. Lupa & Ronnie doing their slow belly dancing moves side by side at Blue Cats. Bluebeard dancing & prancing to Voltaire. BearDragonLady dancing with such soul & feeling. Frost channeling spirits on the dance floor like a force of nature. But my favorite will always be... when Diddy yells the lines from the Time Warp & then we all fall down! What fun!

You're all so beautiful & we share such wonderful memories. Sanctus has been the foundation for this community for years & I will treasure my memories of it as we move forward & create new magic for ourselves. Thanks again KGB. I love you guys.

I have too many memories of Sanctus. But if you will allow me to look past it as just a dance event.Sanctus has brought me something more than just a dance night to drink at.Sanctus gave me new friends some of whom have become closer to me than some of my real life family.Folks who i know i could call up in the middle of the night and they would be there for me.While we may not agree sometimes over certin issue all of the time.My brothers and sisters who i met through Sanctus many thanks and much love to you all.

I have too many good ones to list! My favorite would have to be my 29th birthday, the night I met Butch. My friend Loretta and I were celebrating our birthdays (hers is the 18th of Feb. mine is the 16th). She decided we should do birthday shots. So we went to the bar and she ordered three shots of tequila. I tought one was for James, her husband, who usually doesn't drink. When we counted down and took our shots, she did two! Then she looked me dead in the eye and grinned and said,"You've got catching up to do, Bitch!"
A few shots later, I was introduced to some folks who were up from Nashville. When I was introduced to Butch I said it was my birthday, and he asked who was giving me my spankings. Being a flirt I said, "YOU". He propmtly went outside and returned a few minutes later with a toybag. As it turned out, he was passing through on his way back from Fantasm and had a whole bag full of crops, whip, etc. I remember thinking, what have I gotten myself into? Loretta spotted the bag of toys and immedaitely started hopping up and down shouting, "It's my birthday, too!!! It's my birthday, too!!!" So off we went to the front of the dancefloor for our spankings. We kept loosing count, because people wanted pictures, so we had to start over three times! Finally, as our reward for being good, Butch bought us shots of, you guessed it TEQUILA! The rest of the evening is blurry, as I'd had eight shots of cuervo by the end of the night. Evidently at some point I dropped something under the table and started biting legs at random. I spent the next day in bed, wishing I was dead or comatose, with a cold rag on my head. It was honest to God the worst hangover I've ever had. But I had fun getting there!
Spanks for the memories, everybody!

I think everyone above me has summed up everything that I wanted to say. Fairbanks was the best place it was held, yet Blue Cats did have the outside courtyard, which was great in the spring and fall. The friends that I have made, through Sanctus can never be taken from me and for that, thank you.

D'artagnan with "Hel-lo bun-ny" , ya know Fallen......that still cracks me up! :P

Wow. What can I say. Definately many memories! The Fairbanks days were the best though. Miss those days. And by the way, miss the hell out of you guys. Think its time for me to re-surface soon. Been a recluse lately. But I still love and miss all of you! Ill be on KG again soon..........real soon. If you guys will have me. There were reasons for my disapearance that have nothing to do with you guys. Love you all!! Thanks for the memories!!!!!
