Tattoo places

Well, once again, hopefully I'll get it this time. I need to know if anyone knows of a good place to get high quality tattoos done, and if the place will design a tattoo specifically for you and do it good.

personal recommendation - Saint on broadway

but, every person connects with a different artist for a reason
HIGHLY suggest checking out each location, chatting a bit , and go with what seems comfortable to you.

I would go with Anna if you are into the oldschool tattoos. Matt if you are going for realistic. I got my Tool eye done at body graffix off of broadway. The guys there are nice too : )

Top three questions to ask your prospective tattoo artist/shop:
1) Where is your autoclave?
2) How often do you spore test the autoclave and where do you keep these records? (spore testing should be done at least once weekly)
3) Can I see your portfolio? (some have a book of pictures of tattoos they've done as well as original flash done by the artist)

It is important that you have good communication with the artist. If you think the artist isn't listening to you or won't take the time to discuss with you the art you want to get, leave. Remember, once you decide on the design, especially if it's a big piece, you will have to sit with this person for hours, so you might as well enjoy that person's company. (My last piece took 20 hours total to complete)

Final word of advice: Don't piss off the artist unless you're done with your tattoo and don't ever plan on being tattooed by this person or any of his/her friends again.

I know I'm rambling here, but, if you can't find anyone in Knoxville you like, I can recommend an artist or two in Nashville.

I looked at the portfolios online ....I like the filigree designs Anna does..she has a good eye for detail.

Is there anyone in town well known for their tribal tattoos?
