Top 10 most overrated bands

Post by Hardcoregirl »

Well, he's got 4 or so bands I really like on there...discuss amongst yourself.

I just skimmed it, but what miffs me is the idea that Chris Cornell ( my baby's daddy) would want to sound like Eddie Vedder. Puh-lease. I'm pretty sure soundgarden came before pearl jam.

I laughed quite hard about most of those bands..... And, Chris Cornell does suck! and that guy from Stone Temple Pilots that tried to sound like Cornell and Vedder....

Pearl Jam, formed in 1983 under the name Green River.
Soundgarden, formed in 1984.

besides, Ogre can kick all their asses......

Next.....

An actual quote from me about the band System of a Down: "Choke on a bleeding cock, you life-sucking whore. Nobody gives a fuck about your political views but the people you get high with. Have another Nutter Butter and shut the fuck up."

Two members of Green River went on to form Pearl Jam, neither of which were the vocalist they say Chris is trying to copy. Pearl Jam didn't release an album til 1991. Having two of the same members does not make it the same band...

Soundgarden is older.

i dont agree with most of his list, but the ones i do... mother fuck i agree with

this is another one of those "because i can post it in the net in makes my oipinion not only valid, but correct!!" deals from the author.

i wonder what wonderfuck music this guy listens too

i do totally agree with coldplay (no matter how good that song beautiful world is) and nickleback being horriibly overrated.
But so is my chemical romance.
and so are the black eyed peas
the fugees and that whole clan were too.

popular dpesnt mean good or revolutionary it means popular.
this guy is confusing those lines a little, plus hes just being a whiny bitch whatever he likes isnt the biggest trend evar and his taste isnt the authority.

I was actually suprised that HIM wasn't on there...

I agree with the NIN and Tool shit. I know...I know...Take away my goth card right now, but it's like they are the line between the cool goth kids...and the not so col ones that love Slipknot. Don't get me wrong, I like Tool just fine, but not to the extreme that most of his "true fans," as they call themselves, do.

However, I love the White Stripes...and Coldplay's first album was awesome...Their new shit does blow goat ass though.

Nickelback, and Audioslave...Yea. They suck cock.

But, Rage is pretty fucking cool. I'm not too sure why they are on the list, but I don't know any hardcore Rage fans.

this guy is confusing those lines a little, plus hes just being a whiny bitch whatever he likes isnt the biggest trend evar and his taste isnt the authority.

I think he's just saying that even though they are popular...they still have songs that suck...and they aren't the absolute best band ever. Except for that James Blunt, Nickelback, and Audioslave shit. They just totally and completly blow all kinds of ass.

Now I've had to think of a few of my own...Because there are so many bands out there that are sooo fucking overrated...

String Cheese Incident...Yes, you are a jam band...No you aren't Phish. Just leave it alone. Accept that you are number 2. Although, Phish is a little overrated, but I can't say that whole heartly because I haven't seen them live.

The motherfucking Beatles...I hate when people say..."No, listen to the White album. Listen to them after they've done drugs." Drugs do not equal talent. Secondly, you still suck. That would be like Justin Timberlake releasing a mind blowing thought provoking album. It wouldn't change the face of music...it would just be his whiney voice talking about something else.

The Doors...I know...They are one of my favorite bands too...but people paying a 150+ a ticket for the reuinion tour...in which they lead singer was a guy who was a Jim Morrison impersonator! No. Sorry, but no.

DJ Icey...whoever compared this guy to Grandmaster Flash is a cock face. If I have to hear on Sirius one more time about what a god this guy is...I'm going to cancel my subscription.

U2...The part that gets me about them is how they just keep shiting ablums...I think Bono knows he's overrated. And, if you are going to be Mr. Awesome guy...give ALL of your procedes from an album, and your concert to your favorite charity...

Dave Matthews Band...Don't get me wrong, they have some good albums...but I'm not going to pay 90 bucks for a base price ticket to their show...and anyone who does ia a fucking idiot.

John Mayer...He looks and sounds like he has Syndrome of a Down. His lyrics are soooo shitty to. "I won't let your head hit the bed, without my hand behind it." Wow. Fucking brilliant. You just changed my life forever. No.

Now, just to counter a few who aren't...

Pete Yorn...motherfucking awesome.

DJ Mirco...The official badass of Electronica. He started the Caffiene clothing company, and the largest electronica music festival.

RZA...Mastermind behind the Wu-Tang Clan...This guy is so influential in the Hip Hop world he was on NPR as "The Voice of Hip-Hop." AKA...Captian Badass.

Skinny Puppy...If you don't know...find out.

Elton John...The anti Bono. This guy makes a stand for shit, and gained no profits for over 2 years...because he sent it all to AIDS research. Now, Candle in the Wind did suck...But Crocadille Rock, Daniel, Bennie and the Jets. He's survived over 3 decades in the music buisness and still has his dignity, unlike the Stones.

Yeah, I gotta say...that's pretty dumb.

I went through a Beatles phase as a teen and I still must say they are...well, they are the fucking beatles. My favorite album is Rubber Soul.

I'm afraid most of you are missing the point of the article. There is good music and there is bad music. I'm sorry that you happen to like the music that's on the "bad" list, but that's just how life works sometimes. It's the same with art and movies. There is a clearly defined list of what is good and what is bad, and there is no subjectivity involved. There is no such thing as "personal taste." I'm afraid you might have been given some bad information.

For instance, any piece of music that features a banjo is good. Any piece of music that does not feature a banjo is subpar at best. It's the reason this whole "goth" thing will never catch on. No banjos.

John, lol...I agree, no banjos, no go...well, we are in Tennessee. Anyway, I do happen to like some bands listed like VNV but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And I would go further with my opnion but I would get too fired up and frankly, I am finally not stressed today...

I am just glad people in general can think for themselves.
Now, if we can just fix the drivers on Broadway that I have to contend with everyday, I would be very happy.
