Welcome to Silent Hill

Post by B_Ko »

I've always said that Silent Hill would make one hell of a horror movie, and judging from this teaser trailer, i wasn't wrong.

You cannot possibly begin to grasp how severely excited i am about this.

Holy motherfucking Christ. I am FUCKING THERE.

That and A Scanner Darkly might end up being the best movies of 06.

Yeah, but since Silent Hill is a "niche" series that is generally appreciated by older, more intelligent gamers, it makes sense that the movie will be not bad. The screenplay was written by the guy who wrote Killing Zoe and who came up with the story concepts for Pulp Fiction, so I'm betting it will be pretty damn good.

DOUBLE THE FUCK DRAGON!!!

That was the best video game movie ever. Well, so far anyway.
And no, I'm not kidding.
As far as the video games go I always favored Resident Evil over Silent Hill. The only redeeming thing the Resident Evil movies had going was seeing Milla Jovovich nude in the sequel. The plot, acting and cinematography in the movies blew something fierce.
Judging from the trailer this looks like it has a damn good amount of creepiness to it, and I'm sure as far as plot it has a lot more going for it than the Resident Evil movies. So long as it gets an R rating I'll probably go see it.

There's a new, much longer trailer at the official site, and it looks amazing. They _really_ captured the feel of the game.

Never played the game, but I finally watched the movie tonight. It's not a super great movie. But it is a decent film with some creepy scenes. It's a nice pace from a lot of the horror movies that have been coming out of late. I like supernatural horror movies a bit more than I do the serial killer ones. Don't get me wrong, I like those too. But it seems like there hasn't been any good supernatural ones come out of late, or at least with a good budget and an R rating. I never played the games, but I kinda wish I had now.

The games are better. Like most movies they changed a bit of the plot here and there.

I'll see if I can find my old plot synposis somewhere and get some links up here.

The movie wasn't bad, and that is what I thought the night I saw it. At this point I think I'm over analyzing it and nit picking.

*** EDIT ***

Amazing what a "n't" can do to change a sentence.

I really never played the game but, i thought the gore scenes were rather satisfying. it's better than 90%of the films that were out at that time.

i enjoyed it.
I hate that saying: "You can't have your cake and eat it too."

Because what's the point of having cake when you aren't able to savour and enjoy every tastey morsel it has to offer you.....

Here is a synposis of the first two games and the play novel that I found really insightful. Click me.

IMO, this movie sucked, maybe I have watched too many horror flicks and scary music videos, but this just seemed like one long TOOL video.

Also I have played the game, the people who made this movie could have done a whole lot more with the material they had to work with,IMO.

I disagree, I think it was a great movie. I hope another one comes out that is just as good.
