Well, I have a decent boot of it. That will have to do. After spending MAJOR bucks this month on 3 Criterions - Equinox, Brazil, and the new Seven Samurai set, I really can't afford to upgrade. God, that new trasfer of Samurai is magnificent, BTW.

First hour of Hard Candy was fantastic. After that, I felt a tad let down. Still a good movie, but my hopes may have been set too high.

Miike's entry in the Masters of Suck (I mean Horror) Series - Imprint.

Verdict? Rent it. It has some nice imagery, a cringe worthy sadistic torture scene involving needles and some violent rope play, and...

THE WORST ACTING I HAVE EVER SEEN! The choice to stick with this guy has got to me Miike's most daring directorial decision ever.

Miike directing English speaking actors when he can't really understand or speak the language himself was his most daring directorial decision ever. I'm assuming it was part of the deal with the producers of Masters that it had to be in English, which is sucktastic on their part.
What a dumbfuck idea for Showtime not to air it. It's a goddamn premium channel that can get away with showing what ever they want, and with Miike on board WTF were they expecting!? Are the going to ban Carpenter next? I still think it's the best episode the series has to offer, (aside from Cigarette Burns) but that's not saying much.
With John Landis coming back to open the next season, all of my hopes for the series ever being memorable or noteworthy have completely evaporated.
