marvel would never kill either character, plus wolvies first apperance was in a hulk book anyway. (issue 181).
but if they were real, and like they really could duel it out i dunno. i guess considering they are both fictional characters operating on paramters that are intangible it depends on how your mind works as to how you answer.
plus it depends on which era for both characters.
like bruce banner/hulk when he still changed and wasnt hulk 24 hours a day.. wolive waits till hes banner and kills him. simple.
but adamantium-less bone claw wolvie (pre his healing factor making him all beasty) versus permanent hulk (banner as the hulk) or the grey hulk (considering his intellegence factor relative to the average hulk) no contest the hulk would seperate all the bones from his body.
but average historic wolvie with the healing factor at its normal levels with his adamantium intact vs the normal hulk sometimes banner sometimes hulk?
well its like this, he turns to banner, wolive kills him instantly.
if he stays as hulk, it depends on whos faster.
plus because the hulk has such a height advantage over wolive, and considering how agile wolive is, it becomes disadvantagous for the hulk because his own body becomes his worst enemy.
but if the hulk hits wolive hard enough to seperate his skeleton from his body....... hulk wins. outside of brain damage *which his skull is too insulated for* or internal damage *same with his ribs* doing lethal damage to wolive or hitting him at all is gonna be damned hard. plus if he cuts the hulk deep enough the hulk is useless,
PLUS
all of this operates under the assumption that hulks immense strength makes wolvies blades like an average knife fight.
all things being equal? im saying wolverine wins by either a) massive internal damage or limb servering the hulk or b)spikes claws into his fucking brain (which has the irony there because the hulk is all Id and anger with no thought patterns deeper than a pinwheel).
most likely death? b. more poetic.
yea i know a certain character in mallrats always comes to mind when i talk about my geekness.
