um..i wana do some customisation in osx like change the dock poof...i need to log on as root....um..how do I do that

why did you post this in the admin forum?

(shows how often I read the admin forum... oops.

anyway, to enable root, you need to open NetInfo Manager (it's in Applications:Utilities) then go to the Security menu, select Authenticate..., log in as an admin user, go back to the Security menu, select Enable Root User, and set a root password.
