Today is the day!!!!
A new installment of Killing Joke!
Most of the orginal members are present.
Dave Grohl plays drums on the studio album.
Raven and Youth have put aside their differences.
Jaz gives it all he can vocally and lyrically.
The music is refreshing and amazing!!! Definatly worth waiting like 6 years for it!!!!
A lil sumthin' for everyone is on it!!!
And since they are a very anti-establishment movement, they have quite a bit to say on recent political events.
The only few things I didn't like was : The art/sleeve design seems very thrown together and kinda let me down, and the album is self titled...Much like the first album in 79.
Other than that..YOU MUST OWN IT!!!!!!!....good luck finding it though.
A New Killing Joke Album....FINALLY!!!!

Ah hell, I've seen references to this new album but I thought it was just talk on a re-issue.
To be honest, I'm not a fan of their later works... so tell me, is this more of that... or does it harken back to the days of old?
I'm going to have to search this one out and I'd rather not be let down.
(odd thing is, I'm listening to "Laugh? I nearly bought one" as I write this)
Killing Joke's first 3 albums are in my top40 o' all time list... I love them as I love Red Lorry Yellow Lorry

Yeah..It tends to be a little bit more like "Pandamonium" at times...Others a bit like "Revelations" or "Firedances". All in all a very good album. If not more angsty than previous installments.
Definatly better than "Democracy". There is one song that actually reminds me of "Night Time" or "Land Of A Thousand Suns" era.
If you listen close enough you can hear bits and pieces that want to make you think of earlier times. Raven tends to make it almost crunchy at times, but it works for them. Jaz seems to be playing around with different vocal stylings throughout the album, but then goes back to doing what he does best.Dave Grohl playing drums on the record recalls the days when a certian Martin Aktins played with them. A great installment that shows development within the band and not rehashed crap.
"Implant" "The Death And Ressurection Show" "Asteroid" are great tracks to give a sample listen to. Go get em at the bands website. Free.
Hope you enjoy!
BTW~ "Laugh! I Nearly Bought One." is constantly in my cassette player at home. I love that album!!!....Water is our business!
