The firemen came and broke through the chimney top. And me and Mom were expecting them to pull out a dead cat or a bird. And instead they pulled out my father. He was dressed in a Santa Claus suit. He'd been climbing down the chimney... his arms loaded with presents. He was gonna surprise us. He slipped and broke his neck. He died instantly. And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus.

cool, that's the Tree of Life as from the Kaballah system of spiritualism. It's sort of a long crooked subject and I'm not feeling at all awake yet but here it goes in a nut shell.
Each circle is a part of god's existance and it's not. Because god can not be bound in images in words but the diagram is a simplier version of his existence so us mortals can wrap our brains around her existence.
Simply put...The bottom circle repreents god as he/she/it/us exists on earth. The top circle is the unknowable of the unknowables: the crown of god. I find it interestin that he places his profile in this area...
Here's some more info in the Tree of LIfe

useability - not so good.
Who died and made you Jakob Nielsen?
Actually, I'd agree with you on that point. Especially the very first menu. I've seen far worse however. Most designers feel they have a lot more freedom to do things like tiny text and huge screens, as well as experiment with navigation on their personal sites.
But you have to admit, his work (other than just the site it's self) is pretty solid. No, it's not the most 'original' thing I've ever seen, but originality doesn't count for too much anyway.

Design- His obvious obsession with geometry proves a real asset here. I think his geometric designs are his best-looking stuff; better than his organic art, which is itself quite good. However, as I am not interested in graphic design, especially for the web, I cannot say that I am impressed. It just makes me think of how he could be using his talent for something cool.
Art- His technique is mature and shows a lot of discipline. I am somewhat impressed. As for the subject matter, it betrays a profoundly tortured and perverse mind, which is not an admirable achievement or characteristic. He's probably a sincere and dedicated heretic.
Overall, I am glad you posted. It was interesting, in a way.

From my perspective perverse and tortured minds can make quality art. It allows the aritst to look at things in a different way from the applied way. Off hand I can name William Blake and Edgar Allen Poe whose perversity and torturedness granted some good results.
Of course it all depends on how you define perversity or Tortured. Or even Herectic. Blake and Poe were both described as such but to me they were just two guys who had a more interesting world view then others.
I have to agree with Vader...increase the font size please.

As you have already chimed in with your opinion on this guy's work, I take it you are somehow offended by my opinion, but only the personal-characterisation part. If it is because you are a heretic, I understand, and am sorry, on a couple of levels. I hope it is not because you are, yourself, tortured. I used to be tortured, and I can say it really sucked, as did the unique perspective it gave me. It is good, though, to be one who can gladly benefit from the unique perspective of the formerly-tortured. If you were to ask Poe, I'm sure he would tell you that being tortured is not at all a good or cool thing. Only a wannabe goth, with not enough to do, would aspire to perverse torturedness as a good starting point for creative expression. Gothic angst is an affliction, and while it is no cause for shame, it is definitely not a trophy. But I am sure this is not you, as you seem to be a happy fellow most of the time.

It's a catch. Being tortured is by no means a comfortable position but I can't deny that it can lead to good art. I would assume Poe would have liked to be a bit stabler but would he still have written the majoriity of his work? And in degrees it can be illuminating, depending on the subject being torturned upon.
I can see where you think the web site was heretical but why would it showcase the work of a somewhat torturtured mind?
